When questions ask you to "Draw a neat sketch"

Okay so I'll use a pencil + a ruler, but does it have to be to scale? What if the y-intercept is at (0,16) for example and I'm running out of available space for the large graph to finish off the question?

    Cathode/Anode in electrolytic/Galvanic cells

The cathode is positive in Galvanic cells, and the anode is negative. Why is it the other way around in electrolytic cells?

Do we add the standard solution to the burette or the conical flask?

I'm not so sure myself, but I think that it's added to the burette since it allows you to accurately read off the titre + you know it's conc/volume. But I've been hearing that the standard solution is actually meant to be added to the conical flask. But I don't get why, so could someone help me...

How to effectively structure analyses/notes of my texts?

I can't seem to find a way to organise english notes. What should I base my notes off? People/places/groups/communities/larger world/time (rubric for AOS) for each texts? Or should I structure my notes off thesis statements? I really need a solid framework to work off ://

How to prevent rote learning Perms and Combs?

I'm okay with the easier questions, but the harder questions throw me off completely sometimes. The possibilities of questions are endless, but I find it hard to not rote learn this compared to e.g. differentiation/integration. SO how can I improve my understanding of this topic without...

Exam stress and sillies. How to eradicate them?

Many times after receiving results, I always know that I could have gotten a higher mark since there are a few sillies in them (esp. for maths). I'm guessing exam stress is a cause of the silly mistakes. The stress results in me not reading questions properly It cost me 2/3 marks I lost for...

How hesitant are you when revealing your marks?

Come results time, there's a lot of "Omg what'dya get?" etc. So how hesitant are we when it comes to revealing our marks, good or bad, to others? I personally don't care that much, even if my marks are bad (got <50% for Eng. Adv. yearly and practically told people my mark without them even...

    Favourite chopin mazurka?

Ugh, I've got more important things to do than to bombard the forum with pieces, but I'm too bored and in love with them. I have a few favourites, and there are a million and one things I love about each and every one of them: The main melody is mega-addictive, and I love how the left...

What exactly is 'rote learning' in maths?

Does this refer to simply memorising formulae? What else does this refer to? I used to rote learn formulae, and it didn't get me very far (not that I'm doing any better now), but how can we undo this/any other aspect of 'rote learning' maths?

    Opinions + advice?

My (awesome) teacher picked out the op7 no2 (A minor) and op63 no2 Mazurkas (F minor) , and the op28 no15 'Raindrop' prelude from the manual lists. I am to choose two of these Chopin pieces, but can't decide. I was leaning toward the F minor mazurka, but I'm suddenly liking the A minor one...

How exactly did the GFC start?

I've always been curious about this. The subprime loan crisis in the US was definitely a part of it, but did the crisis 'cause' the GFC since the US is such a significant world player? The second half of the 'Financial Markets' and all of the 'Government intervention in the market economy'...
