I do those subjects + physics, and while it's a crazy workload, I love it and it's really interesting, as the three sciences all link together so much and it what you're learning has real-world applications and you're finding out why stuff works. But, seriously, pick something that you like...
Whatever works, I listen to audio books lots, eg. long car trips (oh joy =l) and when I want a break from everything but without actually reading cause I'm lazy. I pulled 50% all through yr11, but have managed to pick up marks (to about 80%...our adv. class is stupidly smart tho) through really...
Be deep and philosophical while still answering the question, a mate at school does this in literally every discussion/essay/speech that we have, making everything up as he goes, and he still gets pretty decent marks because he can relate so much to his answer and dig a lot deeper than what most...
"The track of a gramophone record is in the shape of a spiral curve and may be considered as a number of concentric circles of inner and outer radius 5.25cm and 10.5cm respectively. The record rotates at 33 1/3 rev/min and takes 18 minutes to play. Find the length of the track (take pi=22/7)"...
Ok. Yeah ok
Aha yep, can relate to all that. Especially doing Hamlet in eng atm...for some reason it made me think very philosophically and deep, which is generally not a good thing aha. Ok. Did you stuggle with feeling guilty about taking a break, cause you know that you need to study? I'm...
Ok. Haha no way I'm getting that, bloody hell. Yeah, can't do that.
Ok. Everyone's different I guess
Yeah. Haha I can't avoid the car, really hate my bus
It's about 40 minutes. Yeah, though out in the country (where I am) you generally don't have a choice
Ok. I've got some stuff like...
I find that I need the break from work during lunch and recess. It could be bc of my subjects which are pretty full on (bio, chem, Phys, 2U math and adv eng). I use my free periods pretty well to keep up with homework and assessments so that's pretty ok.
I generally drive in (me or Dad), or...
Hi
Does anyone have any advice for not burning out during yr12? I live out of town and so already have limited time outside of school (I leave about 7 in the morning and don't get back till about 6-7 in the arvo, some of that time is at school studying, most is travelling around town with...
Definitely do the option that you're school does (ours was biochem) bc the support is really good then, but biochem is really good and it explains a lot about how energy works, and the assessment that we have just handed in incorporated exercise and diet and how that affects weight loss, which...
So our chemistry class is one of the lucky few doing biochem, and was wondering if anyone would be able to give any tips or anything for the topic? It's pretty cool and would like to be able to feel more confident in it :blink2:
I used Alice in Wonderland (Tim Burton) - self discovery and new places (among others) and The Horses Too Are Gone (not so great, its flippin huge) for one comparison and the 100 Foot Journey (text) - self discovery, new places and The Secret LIfe of Walter Mitty (film) - self discovery, new...
Does anyone have any idea of how to come up with a story (preferably within a day as I've been putting this off and have done other assessments ) about discovery that isn't cliche and overdone? Some of my friends have come up with really awesome ones but don't want to "copy" their theme so...
If anyone's wondering, Alice in Wonderland (Tim Burton) was a really good choice for one of my texts. You could easily write a whole essay on the discoveries, techniques used and other aspects that come with discovery within the movie, and would easily link in with a lot of other texts :D
Haha ok thanks. How do you juggle study and homework and assessments though? I'm doing the 3 sciences and adv. eng. and have long days as I live out of town, as well as some health problems atm =l. We've thought about doing Pathways but would prefer to just get the HSC over and done with haha
So I'm doing 2 Unit and I'm getting the answers right in class and am keeping up and that, but as soon as I get an assessment I suck really bad and hardly ever pass. What am I doing wrong? I am one of those people who don't do as well in exams but I need to pick up maths marks. I'm getting...
So the first assessment we have for yr12 advanced english is kinda big and in parts, but the first part is comparing two related texts, one visual one prose, and writing a 200-300 word response comparing them and working out which one communicates aspects of discovery better. I think I've chosen...
