    Essay help

Is there anyone out there, (preferably at a high band 6 level) who would not mind taking a look at a essay I wrote for ModA? Please send me a message if you can! EDIT: I don't necessarily need anything overly extensive, just a quick sentence or two on how it was in general and any obvious errors.

    Lenz's Law requirements

Just as a side question (don't want to make another thread for it) can anyone tell me how to do question 2.9.6 of the physics dot point book? Using the right hand palm rule I get (a) right but the other three wrong. :confused2:

    Lenz's Law requirements

Thanks, nightweaver said there will be eddy currents though, which repel the magnet, is this true?

    Lenz's Law requirements

So eddy currents are induced currents in an open circuit then, or in a non-conductive path? And back EMF is another word for induced EMF?

    Lenz's Law requirements

How do you know if eddy currents are produced, and what exactly are they? Teacher kind of skimped over eddy currents so im not too sure how they work.

    Lenz's Law requirements

For lenz's law to take place, there must be a current produced in the conductor to create a magnetic field to oppose that of the magnet. If then, the conductor is not a complete circuit (eg piece of wire) that is moved relative to a magnet, there will be an induced EMF but no current. Therefore...

    Relevance of syllabus dot points

That would be chapter 4 of the textbook right? The stuff involving galvanic cells? Thanks for the heads up.

    Relevance of syllabus dot points

I notice some textbooks (jacaranda for eg) have a lot of information that I can't really relate to any syllabus dot points. Does this mean I can just ignore that stuff as it shouldn't ever appear in an exam? Or do the people who write the HSC exams interpret the dot points broadly and hence the...

    Greg Marsden notes

Does anyone know where I can find these elusive notes? They are written by the infamous greg marsden, there are threads on this website from 12 years ago asking where you can find his notes. He also happens to do notes for chemistry. I myself can't find them anywhere on the internet and...

    Rookie questions on related texts

Just one last newbie question to wrap it all up, do we assume the marker knows the plot of our related? EG: if you use a book / short story / film, you don't need to provide a sentence recount of the general plot, and can head straight into analysis as you would in the core material? Do HSC...

    Rookie questions on related texts

Ah, so you can just make a conceptual statement on discovery, such as statement 1 in your example. and the similarities can be how they both prove statement 1 in their respective ways? They wouldn't necessarily need to have the matching themes / techniques / plot? (I'm guessing it would help...

    Rookie questions on related texts

How would I relate it using differences though, that would seem quite odd. Also, for example with journey:the North Coast I talked about how the narrator discovers the simple beauty/purity of nature and its ability to give hope and inspire. As dirty_ink said, I would need to find a related that...

    Rookie questions on related texts

Does anyone know where I can find the HSC list of texts (I think it's called something like that), the elusive list of texts that you are NOT allowed to use as a related text? Also, is it especially important to have strong links in the ideas and/or similar techniques in the related text and...

    mCAT clarification minus or not?

q=mcat is used to calculate the amount of heat absorbed by the CALORIMETER H=-mcat is used to calculate the change in enthalpy of the substance realeasing / absorbing heat. Yes there are two, not much of a difference... you can use one and change the sign depending on what you are finding.
