Re: Do you think the Board of Studies is fatally flawed?
Although I have read some of the stupidest things posted by our good friend Sathius here, I have to say some of the points he's brought up here aren't all that idiotic. Our culture here does promote "winning is not everything" and seems...
If close to 1/3 of the exam is on Harder 3U, why do some schools leave it till the end and rush through it? Or are you expected to learn/revise it yourself? Hopefully our school gives us sufficient time on the harder 3u stuff!
Oh wow I did not know that yet. Looks like its one of the topics you should really practice and do well on. Hopefully our teacher spends quite a bit of time on the harder 3u stuff.
Thanks for the detailed response and it really helps by looking at other's results to estimate how hard topics...
We've covered complex numbers and started conics and I was wondering what people think the hardest topic in 4U Maths is? What should i not be looking forward to? :P
Thanks!
For us, we've completed complex numbers and doing conics. Our exam in later this term will be on both complex numbers and conics. But I do think our teacher flew through some things in complex numbers without proper explanations ><

Thats a fair point :) Okay then, I think its better off if I do chose PHB, Biopol or Polylactic Acid and just do it really well and thoroughly. Thanks guys!
I do go to a selective school although it does have a small population haha! I do believe I can achieve top 3 in my science subjects if I put in the work. Thanks for your advice! I do enjoy maths (not as much as sciences though) and I think I'll stick around for that first 4U test and try my...
Our first assessment at school for Chemistry is a second-hand investigation presentation on dot point 2.6 -
"Use available evidence to gather and present data from secondary sources and analyse progress in the development and use of a named biopolymer. This analysis should name the specific...
Thanks for your advice :) The first assessment for 4U is gonna be on Complex Numbers and Conics. My question now is what do you think the mark or rank (we have about 8 people in the class) is that would indicate that I should stick with 4U?
