I'm currently doing a double degree (engg & adv. sci) aiming for a major in advanced mathematics, and just want to know if the content of the MATH1004 unit is retaught in a later unit of study (e.g. MATH2069) or if its an important unit of study on its own. Im considering dropping engineering (i...
I agree. I also thought that nobody could even find it uninteresting lol
OP: I'm doing regular phys, ssp maths, psyc and engg, and, at the moment, I find psyc has alot more workload than phys (which actually had the least so far). Not sure if just because first week tho
Guess so :/ oh well
And yep! Im going for the advanced mathematics degree, so im set for that!
Thanks so much for the help guys! Im still not 100% sure if i should just drop down to standard physics to smoothen out my first semester, but Ill end up making my mind hopefully by the end of the...
Do you guys think I should stick to advanced physics and just catch up on that one hour lecture for it later or drop down to standard physics so that there are no clashes at all?
The advanced physics lectures are set and can't be moved at all.
The engineering ones, on the other hand, can be on either Monday 2-5, or Wednesday 2-5. The monday one is the clash here. The wednesday one also clashes with advanced physics exactly in this way. :(
My PHYS1901 and ENGG1800 classes clash every monday like this:
I need engineering for my degree, but am also really interested in doing advanced physics. Do you think I should just drop it anyway, because it gets rid of this clash? (I find it hard to believe that engineering students rarely...
Hmm I went through the entire checkout process and even at the end it said the price was $0.00, putting in the money for postage separately (also at $0.00). So I'm assuming it just means I pay by hand.
How will this help in this issue?
Edit: "enrolled in degrees administered by the Faculty of Science (BSc, BMedSc, BPsych, BLAS and their specialist streams or combined degrees)." The B Engg/BSc degree is administered by the faculty of engineering. Will this be an issue?
Edit 2: I researched...
Haven't heard of it before! But according to this:
"To be considered for the program in your first year, you should normally have an ATAR (or equivalent) of 99.00 or higher and a band 6 result in at least one HSC science subject area or a mark of 95 or above in HSC Mathematics Extension 2. "...
Weeber: Yep, would you discourage that? (more so MATH1903, MATH1905 and MATH1004). Im going for the advanced maths degree.
Andrew759: Thanks so much for the advice! But how would it be possible to make up those 3cp without exeeding 24cp per semester? Summer school?
Ahh so theres no other way to make up those 3cp? Can I take 6cp + 3cp electives next term to make up 9 total cp? Because I really want to keep MATH1004. How much would workload differ? Does a 3cp sub have half the workload or?
The CUSP page for my degree (http://cusp.sydney.edu.au/students/view-degree-page/degree_id/205) says I need 24 credit points each semester. This works out for semester 1 with my elective being 6 credit points.
In semester 2, however, I want to choose MATH1004 i.e. Discrete Mathematics, but...
This happened no internet explorer, and it doesn't work at all on Chrome (which i tried first) BUT it worked perfectly on firefox! Thankyou! Only the PHYS1901 sub isn't working I'm going to the uni anyway tomorrow so I'll get it sorted then thanks!
