Nah legit work experience is all that anyone really cares about in the end. QZP and OzKo have basically said it - double degrees just give you two industries worth of opportunities as opposed to one.
A second degree night give a candidate a better look on paper compared to an equal candidate...
- you can graduate and get into the work force faster.
- your gpa/wam will probably higher to help you get those interviews.
- in business/commerce you can only do cadetships on a single degree (probably the biggest advantage)
is correct although I think 3u/4u maths is somewhat transferable to engineering courses from what i'm hearing (at least in first year) so maybe that's an exception
and probably some sciences too
law is more about how you interpret things and are able to write out what you've interpreted in plain language
how well you did in HSC english is not a good indicator of your ability to cope with it

Incredibly narrow path with exceptionally low income earning capacity as well. Basically you have to just volunteer free work at community legal centres until you might get lucky enough to score an unpaid internship with the UN or the AHRC in your last year and then you might have a job...

They're an alright bunch of people, can't say I'm into forcing developing nations into dependency on the west but what are you gonna do, short term benefits are all that people look at until it officially becomes long term and you have the benefit of hindsight
