Oh that sucks :( but escaping the cold sounds like a much better option, I'm pretty lucky I'm from Tamworth so it's only about an hour and a half away so not too far to drive :) good luck to you as well, I'm sure you'll do fabulous :D
Most districts have a prepared speech as well as an impromptu - mine has a five minute speech and then an 'impromptu' but we got told about the topic, we just have to speak without notes.. good luck in the interview I hope you get in :)
Haha mines at the public school in walcha - you've probably never heard of that place, it's tiny... and very cold - perks of being from a rural area :)
congrats to you too! the email basically just said that interviews are in the last week of july and gave us some sample questions so we can know what to expect (which was good for me because my local club didn't hold interviews). If you want I can find the questions for you :)

Thank you all for your help with question one, I must have misunderstood that bit when we were learning about it, but now that you've pointed it out it makes a lot more sense :)
Me me me! I got an email about district selections a couple of days ago! I can't believe I only just saw this post now!

Just a big post with all the separate groups and like who to contact if you want to join instead of having heaps of separate threads. And I'll get back to you with my skype later, I'm pretty sure I have one I just cant remember what it is.. :)

Question two was the one that really confused me, I thought that carbon and iodine both being non metals would form covalent bonds not ionic...

I'm interested in joining a group for chemistry or physics, I also do maths extension and biology.. Maybe it would be a good idea to get a master post going with group lists for all subjects so it's easy to keep up with and see what we have? (Also would be easier for new people to join)
