If it reacts with a hydronium ion, it indeed then acts as a base, but that's not the only thing that's occurring. You thus cannot say that it's acting as a base only.
Plus, the most probable candidate for the cause of acidic taste is hydronium ions.
It's known that bicarbonate ions do not...
Sciences: Get your syllabus notes ready so that you don't need to revisit multiple textbooks or ask last minute questions to tutors/teachers close to exams.
Imo, getting such notes/material ready for final revision (before each exam) is far more important than attempting practice questions/past...
to test how ready you are to do some hard work/study at uni
since not everyone can or should go to uni as places and resources are limited...
and the 13 years of schooling would really be basic education that's considered to be necessary/good to have done to appreciate those around you/blend...
Extracurricular and volunteer activities are good to have done, but they're unnecessary. I got in without having anything much in that category. Difficulty and focus of interview varies a bit depending on unis, but generally the same format - semi-structured, 2-3 interviewers (in most cases 2)...
This.
Early in the semester, yes, plenty of time to study, but as midsem approaches, prob no time to study without sacrificing sleep (and who'd do that during the semester? except for doing last minute assignments).
SSP chem shares the same set of lectures as adv chem and the only differences are that the lecturer takes your tutes and labs are better - more space and if it's like 2 years ago, pretty bludgey too (in the 1st sem).
E.g. adv chem has titration lab skills test while SSP has none!
but 2nd sem SSP...
lol no worries! I'm kinda bored of these holidays so I'm killing my time haha
Adv stats is different to other maths in that university stats is not something that's taught in high school. That's why many people give very diverse responses to it - some people say it's ridiculously hard and some...
I actually think 4U was a pretty difficult course and adv maths didn't feel that bad after doing 4U. So it could mean that in terms of learning the first time, adv units are easier OR 4U just improved my maths by heaps so that now I can understand things better. I'm not sure which so can't...
Yeah, all my subjects were advanced unless they didn't have adv units for that course.
I know sci fac website says that it's not advisable to take more than 24cp of adv units per year, but imo, don't trust it. Advanced units are mostly overrated in terms of difficulty.
Keeping up with...
Idk anything about 3rd year maths, but hmm MATH2961 without having done 1901? Wouldn't it be a little hard?
but 2962 should definitely be doable and interesting.
Some people I know also took logic and foundations (3rd yr unit) in their first year.
Nah, I only did MATH2965 and didn't do MATH2961. Maths units are my for-fun type subjects I overload on top of my normal 24cp/sem load anyway. My main interests are stats and med chem.
and MATH1902! I completely forgot about it. It was indeed the hardest 1st year maths course and so the order...
Yep, 1st year maths is, in general, much easier than later ones. Esp true for MATH1903 lol, the 2nd easiest course ever with the 1st being discrete maths (MATH1004).
EDIT: but I've been learning a bit of vector calc in these holidays and it doesn't seem much harder than MATH1901 - though...
