question for u math gods.
I thought this question was a little crazy.
does anyone have any ideas?
By using the t-formulae, show that the equation a sin x + b cos x = c
has real roots if a^2 + b^2 >= c^2
ok, but this one has only one solution which is 33degrees41mins
3 cos x + 2 sin x = square root of 13 between 0<=x<=360
why wasnt the 360 - 33'41' counted?
hey, the answer to sinx + cosx = 1 with 0<=x<=360
is 0, 90 , and another answer is 360 how does this 3rd answer come about?
thanks. using the a sin x + b cos x = r sin (x+alpha)
haha, the Q is acturaly
3tan^3 x - 3tan^2 x - tanx + 1 = 0 solve between 0 and 360 degrees.
the -2tan^2 x changed to -3tan^2 x
sorry , ive got the right answer now anyway.
hey,
this is a question concerning the trig topic in the prelim course.
is there a simpler way to do it rather than polynomials since we havent done that part of the course yet.
3tan^3 x - 2tan^2 x - tanx + 1 = 0 solve between 0 and 360 degrees.
thanks
hey,
ive got a question from my mathematics extension assignment and ive need a little bit of help. thought it might be fun for those of u in year 12.
For the points A(-5,-1) and B(1,0):
(i) Write down the coordinates of P, the point that divided AB in the ratio K:1
(ii) If P lies on xy=1...
hah, way to go, thats quick
thats the right answer too from the textbook.
how about this one?
0<=x<=360
2sin^2 x + cosx = 1
the answer has four sol'n can u help?
hey sorry if this is in the wrong thread but its about the subject which isnt a specific thread in the prelim section.
anyway
solve between 0<=x<=360
2sin^2 x-3cosx=2
thanks for any help, if this is in the wrong thread please tell me.
hey,
im currently in year 11 and, although i shouldn't be thinking about uni, was just wondering if any one could tell me what they like/dislike about the economics courses up there.
thanks
just focus and concentrate.
im not doing too well in ex and i would love to do 4 unit, it is about the effort you put in.
after my half yearly results i am going to put a lot of work into improving my knowledge of the course.
just keep going.
