Lots of people's properties make money for them on a rental basis (after interest rates). If you're not making money, you shouldn't buy. You'll be ok at the end, but it's clearly a mediocre investment for mediocre investors.
I think you should focus more on some other opinions too. We can all read about how great a firm is on their career brochure and there really isn't much spice or market for another independent institution to emphasise that same point over and over again.
