    Medical Science or Advanced Science?

Consider looking into the Med Sci (Adv) or Sci (Adv) @ UWS, or Med Sci @ UNSW since they offer lateral entry into their undergraduate medical program (you want to maximise your chances). TBH I think Sci(Adv) and Med Sci offers similar, if not the same, career opportunities. Basically the...

it says a class is open but when I go to enrol in it, that class isn't there :(

The timetable site doesn't update immediately when changes occur (takes a couple hours, if not a day).

is the prescribed textbook for math1041 really necessary?

Completely agree, I didn't even open my textbook because the lecturers covered the essential concepts + topics well enough. I just made sure I did all the tut questions + past papers and made good use of the consultation times.

    B.Comm or B.Comm (international) or B.Com/arts

I'm pretty sure the B.Com @ UNSW allows you to double major in a Business Field and a language. You can also apply for exchange in 2nd/3rd year so why bother doing a 4 year degree when you can have the benefits of both in a 3 year Commerce Degree.

    SMSSOC Annual Camp

Haha, i must agree the numbers have been quite low for the previous couple years. P.S. should have seen the society before u started medsci (or lack of) :)

What is the EASIEST subject at UNSW?

Yeah haha, PHYS1160 - Astro. Basically a gen ed for every1 but science students =/. Final exam is online and basically just google the answers :). MATH1011 is pretty easy as well, and also the other online gen ed 'Brave New World' and a summer gen ed SCIF1004 - watch movies for a week and you...

Likelihood of transfering from UTS medical science into med/dent.

It doesn't matter at all what degree you do to transfer into medicine. All they look at is your GPA for first year (plus half of your ATAR) - I.e. you can do Arts at UWS and get a perfect GPA of 7 and be extremely competitive in applying to medical school. Also, if you don't get into...

    BE/BSc (Chemical Engineering) Timetable/Subjects

Just letting you know BABS1201 is only offered in semester 1.

    Medical Science and Electives @UNSW

You can definitely enroll into Psych B without completing Psych A. This is because they cover different areas of Psychology. Some other electives you can consider are BIOT1011, PHYS1111, MATH1011/1031/1131/1141. Even some geology courses like GEOS1111 or BIOS1301 if ur interested in ecology, or...

Please help me decide my future?

Have you considered adding Adv Sci or Med Sci Adv courses from UWS, or Med Sci from UNSW - in hopes of achieving entry via special schemes? The good thing about those courses are you can apply for first year entry into Medicine after a year of uni and if that doesn't work you can then apply via...

    Medical Science and Electives @UNSW

For chem1031 dw about it coz after u do the Diagnostic test first (b4 any real exams/quizzes/lab works, maby except 1 quiz altho u can ask tutors for help on those). After the Diagnostic test, the course coordinator will contact u if he thinks u should drop down to CHEM1011 so dw about chem for...

    Medical Science and Electives @UNSW

Np man, I just wish sum1 gave me advice in first year xD. U can always call up the Science student centre for sum advice or defs come over to the Med Sci Stall in O-week and ask for advice from the 2nd/3rd year students. BTW i'm sure u have the idea that MedSci is pretty cut throat and...

    Medical Science and Electives @UNSW

oh really? i'm not sure about that MATH1141/1241 getting u exempted from MATH1041 besides sum1 getting transferred from another degree into medsci. But man, u should do MATH1041...its pretty easy as well.

    Medical Science and Electives @UNSW

nah cant, MedSc at UNSW only allows 1 elective in first year. pretty sucky aye lol. But yeah, MATH1131/1141 does have scaling whereas MATH1011/1031 doesnt. Could be a factor, but i still think 1011/1031 is sooo easy u defs wont need the scaling.

    Medical Science and Electives @UNSW

Riproot raises an interesting point about not doing fundamentals of maths coz really, we're at uni to learn stuff. But then again, u want med and to do that ur gonna need to maximise ur marks (this is extremely true for lateral entry coz UNSW doesn't use WAM as a threshold). WAM is just the avg...

    Medical Science and Electives @UNSW

The good thing about CHEM at unsw, for my year anyways, was that the past paper (yeah, 1 paper lol) they provided mimic'd the finals for about 70%. I'm also pretty sure the midsem exam was the same for CHEM1011 and 1031 so you'll still be doing the same set of questions (Except for the bonus...

    Medical Science and Electives @UNSW

Consider doing MATH1011 (offered both sem) or MATH1031 (only sem 1). They're both much easier than MATH1131/MATH1141 and only require 2units of maths. It'd be good to maximise your marks if you're considering the Lateral Entry in 2nd year. Also do chem1031, pretty sure chem1011 and chem1031...
