A lot of questions about Advanced Maths vs. Commerce in my double degree

Well, yeah, that's what I'd personally suggest. It's personally that I've done actuarial for a year myself, and the degree doesn't really teach you a lot. Also seeing that it's also a pretty specialised thus the job options are actually limited. Whereas generalist majors like mathematics...

A lot of questions about Advanced Maths vs. Commerce in my double degree

I'd say having a statistics major can open you up to many more opportunities, particularly in data science, data analytics, Australian Bureau of Statistics, NSW Department of Health, government departments and organisations (where statistics is needed), media organisations, cancer council, areas...

    UNSW 2017 Semester 1 Timetables

If anything I'd like to ideally have 1-2 days full on of uni, and have tutorials at night time for the days I am at uni, simply because I can potentially fit work in, and not have to go to lectures during the day time anyway.

    UNSW chit chat thread

Re: UNSW chit chat thread 2016 I find whatever happening to him for CEVSOC is absolutely ridiculous. It's just uncalled for. Though that said the people who have attacked him have apologised to him on the FB event page. That event pretty much feeds the gap that the BSOC saga had last year.

Re: UNSW chit chat thread 2016 I'm not sure what happened with them, but I would just assume that their maple test got extended. That said most people I'd assume would be discussing the answers with others during the emergency evacuation.

    Easy Gen Ed's

Oh hey simmy I see you're back on BoS :P Anyway, yes I have heard of good things about MGMT3721 - Negotiation skills. Definitely consider taking it up as an Business School elective (doesn't count as Gen-ed since you're in the faculty of Business).

Re: UNSW chit chat thread 2016 I did PTRL1010, can confirm easy D but the amount of content you need to memorize is insane, so cbf. But they changed the lecturer after I did it, so might be different (Ryan Armstrong).

    New Draft Syllabus

Praying to the lord that means more jobs for me when I decide to become a teacher and teach the new syllabus.

    New Draft Syllabus

Incorporating the Aboriginal stuff into every subject won't happen in practice I guess. As for resources I'm probably going to scout through O-level and A-level past exams (UK, Singapore, Malaysia syllabus), AP past exams, SAT resources (USA) for such courses, as well as use my first and 2nd...

Re: UNSW chit chat thread 2016 Yeah, maths timetabling is horrible, which is partly why I end up jigging those lectures anyway.

Re: UNSW chit chat thread 2016 Yup, had him for MATH2501. He also took on discrete maths a few years ago. IMO very good lecturer and explains things very concisely and to the point where you can really understand it.
