yeah, i put justice. when i first read the question, without looking at the options, i immediately thought the answer was equality. but when that option wasn't there, i thought justice was the closest thing to it. but agree, really stupid question. .

yeah i did (b) because id sent a really similar essay to my teacher a few days before. so it was so fortunate. and i found, because the question was a little more specific, it was easier to create a proper argument etc etc. i thought most people would have chosen (a)

YES. i'd have to agree - i would really love a question on the purposes of punishment! so fingers crossed. but , they asked that last year! but you never know :) for the essay topics, i really hope they don't ask for a discussion on some really random topic! i hate it when they do that and...

^ ooh i hope you're right about it being similar to cssa. i like the general effectiveness questions! and for crime i REALLY hope its not a criminal justice issue as well. they asked that in 2006 hsc paper. so hopefully that means they wont. . .

mm they had law reform for the essays in 2006 so im hoping that they dont do it this year. although its so nice that you always have a choice of two. so if they do ask on law reform, i'll just choose the other one. :) im hoping for a pretty general question for both essays.

i know! i have no idea what you would need to come up with for 7 marks! I just wrote about how livy presents the reasons for Romulus' actions and shows that he is only doing it to preserve the greatness of Rome etc etc. but yeh, they could have given us a more suitable passage. grr.
