    Future UNSW Students Rollcall

Hehehe actually once you hit 2nd year of your degree, your high UAIs won't count for anything. Nor will the typical "Baulkham Hills or Sydney Boys" do the trick. Rather it'll be like...what's your WAM. Beware :) Uni is nothing like High School. But still! Give it your best shot 08'ers!

    Stationary for uni (Engineering/science courses)

If your degree is within the Faculty of Science, most courses already have lecture notes on UNSW's WebCT (This is your main server where you can access your course's lecture notes, announcements, discussions etc), then you just print your lecture notes and bring em to the lecture. If you...

    Physiology 1A, 6 or 7 contact hours a week?

If you're not a vivid drawer, Microbiology is the best way to go. Haha I found every aspect of MICR2011 and MICR2201 interesting, there was abit of overlap at the start of MICR2011 lectures, which in a way means no need to study for those sections. You'll find Microbiology to be quite easy...

    general UNSW chit-chat

Damnit if they do squeeze 14 weeks of work into 12 weeks with no alteration to the Assessments!

    Semester 1 2008 timetables

Best to ask the person who authorised your permitted clash. Otherwise, say if its your CHEM1031 that's clashing with your eco subject. Then Call School of Chemistry's Office and they'll be sure to sort you out. Or Vice versa. Call the Economics/Commerce office, and they'll sort it out. Or...

    Semester 1 2008 timetables

oooo lol at least you're experiencing only a 4 hour break. You haven't experienced a 7 hour break yet eh.. :D Still though, you're 3rd year now, and you've STILL got 2 days off. Jeez compared to us poor science students, who've got increased lab hours, and my whole Mid-Recess break is now...

    I don't know why I cant enroll MICR2201

Yes it's quite unfortunate. MICR2201 has just been approved by UNSW committee to be canceled, since the Course Coordinator - Kathy Takayama is no longer teaching, and Paul March has also left. Both Lecturers constitute more than 50% of the MICR2201 course. It's quite possible that under the...

    General Education (Gen Ed) FAQ

 thanks for the correction! Always good to be sure. You must obtain approval from your faculty's student centre. And not all courses can be counted as 6 UOC Gen Eds. I think its primarily Language courses. HIV is under the Science Faculty.

    best geneds?

If you just want to pass your Gen Eds, you could choose gen eds that interest you. But if you want to kill em, do those that are relatively easy to gain marks in, and low contact hours unofficially. Hint, look at our BoS Gen Ed Faq. You usually hear rumours from other students on which ones to...

    General Education (Gen Ed) FAQ

Though Sunjet, it looks like you're a BCom and B Eco student. If that's the case, you're exempt from doing the Gen Eds. In a way, you're missing out on free HDs for 12 UOC though.

    Date for Semester 1 2008

Correct me if I'm wrong. But Week Zero technically is the O-week, or a non-teaching period for all Non-ADFA, Non-Medicine and Non-AGSM students. So teaching should commence in the Teaching Period One (T1) which is 10th March 2007.

question about gen ed for summer session!

The census date for Summer session every year is typically around 22nd February, i.e. the day that Summer Session ends. So practically, this should answer your second question. You can go to all the lectures, or Tutorials for this Gen Ed and not pay a dime. If MyUNSW Portal - Summer Session...

question about gen ed for summer session!

It's quite important in choosing what Gen Ed you do. Most people fall into the trick that you do it, because its interesting. If you feel uncomfortable with completing the assessments, its best to choose other Gen Eds. If you're lazy, but you want good marks like a minimum of a HD, then do Gen...

    general UNSW chit-chat

Hhaha I'm slaughtered in 3rd year... 6 x 4 contact hours with 4 hour labs....God maybe I should start choosing some Arts or Economic based electives... Anyone else here doing Micro/Immuno based majors?
  17. Rekkusu

    wow no1 does this elective

Ah this is starting to get interesting with the HSC. I'm not sure if your teacher recommends 2nd year University standard Biochemistry for your Chem Elective, but Biochemistry by Stryer is quite a fabulous book! Though, it may cover more content than you really need, but do use it if you're...

Lol funny, I always said that to friends about the escalator running from Anzac Parade to Upper campus. Damn law people, why do they get an escalator. They should put some money to fixing the library lifts, they go up to level 9, when you really want to go to lvl 2. Hahha Law has got to be...
