    Choosing Tutorials/Lectures

that booklet they sent out with enrolment confirmations said that timetables wouldd be out on the wednesday before o-week. the student centre never meet their deadlines though, so it's really a guessing game when we'll get them.

    Subject Selections 2009

2991 is actually 'political analysis' iirc. it's really just a mishmash of theoretical issues and approaches (behaviouralism, rational choice theory, institutionalism, structure vs agency, etc) which is sort of interesting but the way the whole thing is presented is pretty dull and it's not...

yeah, it's definitely a walkable distance. but it's still longer than going from redfern, and it's not as nice a walk because of all the traffic on broadway.

    Travel Concessions

theoretically the Ministry of Transport could cross-check with the ATO, but: - this would require state-federal collaboration, which isn't always easy - the Ministry of Transport probably has more important things to be bothering with - i'm not even sure if the MoT has a centralised list of who...

    Travel Concessions

technically that's the rule, but everyone ignores it and nobody checks whether you have a job or not. just sign up for the concession anyway.

    USYD Myuni/Unikey issues?

it's probably just that your enrolment hasn't gone through the system yet or something. it says your unikey is valid, so there's probably no reason to worry.

    if you want, yeah.
  14. T

    usyd enrolment

i don't remember needing any ID at enrolment, but if it's in the letter, you should probably bring your licence or something just in case. how many times have you asked this question? if you are an australian citizen, you have the choice of paying some or all of your tuition fees on the day...

    Defermet

no. deferments lapse if you study elsewhere during the year. if you decide to go on with your current course this year, you'll have to reapply to the other course for 2010 admissions.

    Economics versus Political Economy

you can do up to 12 junior cp (so up to 2 of your 8 junior units of study) from table B.

    probably yes.

What exactly do you do when you enrol at USYD?

you'd be better off asking this in the usyd forum, but basically you queue up forever, get your forms, fill out your details (including, most importantly, the units of study you want to take this year, and your tax file number), then take your forms around to various people at computers and get...

    Summer '08-09 Chatter Thread

there are actually some pretty decent off-campus deals on the access card this year (mcdonalds stanmore, broadway cellars), so i'm tempted to buy one. probably won't end up doing it though, i have better things to spend my $99 on. but a question to waf or anyone else who knows - are there...

    Economics versus Political Economy

there's not really any such thing as a 'first major' and a 'second major'. if you do two majors, they're not ranked against each other or anything. in a BA and related courses, you can (usually) do up to two majors. at least one must be from Table A. the other can be from Table A or Table B. so...
