General Thoughts: English Advanced Paper 2

I think it was a lot easier than a lot of past papers- especially for Hamlet.

    Module A: EBB and Gatsby

That sounds good, I wouldn't be worried :) It sounds like pretty much the same argument I had, albeit in a different structure. You're lucky you had time for a re-read; I was writing until the last minute :)

    Module A: EBB and Gatsby

I think I did okay, although my argument was a bit convoluted at the start. Gatsby- Fitzgerald believes that society is pursuing a clouded perception of perfection in wealth etc EBB- striving to achieve moral perfection and equality (sounds tenuous now but it worked, somehow). While they...

General Thoughts: English Advanced Paper 2

For the Justice Game, I interpreted "power" to be literal power in the cases he presents - eg that of the archaic legal system etc. I focused on The Trials of Oz and Michael X. I know some people interpreted it differently, saying that Robertson himself has power in revealing the truth. I...

    Hamlet's moral decline

Hey guys, My reading of Hamlet focuses on the corruption of Elsinore, focusing on the political corruption (Claudius and Polonius), incorporeal corruption (Gertrude and Ophelia) as well as physical corruption (eg death, poison motifs, Yorrick's skull etc). My thesis is that the play focuses...

What is a large import quota?

Riley's description is confusing - agreed. In my understanding, a large import quota means a large amount of goods can be imported. A smaller import quota means fewer goods can be imported, and higher protection.

How can I trick my parents?

Not even sure if this is legit. Surely you feel bad about lying in the first place? Be honest, tell them you'll get an offer for the course you want and they should be happy for you. If you hide the letter, you'll just be in the shit later when they realise it isn't turning up and they start...

    Do i need English Advance?

Don't do it. I'm guessing the only reason you 'hate it' is because you 'aren't the best at it' - I was the same.

    Need some advice..

Ditto the above, no point doing that much tutoring, especially in year 11. Even if you do decide to be tutored, start with 1 subject, and see how you go.

    10 units vs 12 units.

I would do twelve, but no more than 12. I started with 14 units and it was hell.
