Universities are getting transitional funding to ameliorate the loss of fee paying places. Whether UNSW will take fewer students is anybody's guess, but if they do, it does show the irony of the policy.

I hope you're in year 12. I'd be surprised if a law student at a prestigious school like Usyd fell into the trap of making such a blatant logical fallacy.

It depends on the university. You should look up the marking policy of your faculty. Some faculties like Syndey hand out 40%+ distinctions and high distinctions combined, and another 40% of credits. Others aren't as generous.

From my experience during clerkship interviews, top tier firms didn't seem overly concerned with my transcript (and I have my fair share of Ps). Government departments were a different matter though.

There aren't many first years at uni-lodge one. There won't be many first year undergraduates at uni-lodge two either, apparently they're targetting post-graduates. There are heaps of first years at B&G and Fenner though.
