    Where to get notes?

Not to mention the lecture notes aren't even available for sale until March. Or for that matter, the notes haven't even been compiled yet.

    semester 2 timetables

Still have no timetable, will probably get one by next week or week 1.

    ***Some binomial questions***

With this trinomial expression, you need something different Note that the only way to get constant terms is with product of five 1's or two x^3 and three -\frac1{x^2}. There are 5C2 ways for the latter, and along with the minus sign, the coefficient is 1-10=9.

    Question abt marks

Both WAM and GPA are numerical, so you won't have a credit for those. Look up what they are and how they are calculated (there are a lot of those here, just search).

mid year entry semester 2 when do we choose our timetable?

There is no choice in timetabling, apart from the ability to block off either a whole day or two half day periods. You have no say in which class you attend.

need help finding a textbook for a subject

Coop bookstore has them (at least on their website). I'd wait for the start of the course first though, and see what the lecturer says.

    Linear algerbra

Depends on whether it's abstract linear algebra, or one that actually has numerical exercises. The latter is easy, the former not quite as easy.

$1million dollars for solving one of these maths questions

I would personally say the Riemann Hypotheis, which has stood the test of time from all the great mathematicians in the last 150 years. Sort of like the mathematician's version of Fermat's Last Theorem, where everyone try to have a crack and gets nowhere. Its result would have a significant...

$1million dollars for solving one of these maths questions

No, but you're one of the few who actually finds it funny, because it's really lame.

Post Grad Entry to Medicine via GAMSAT etc etc

Proper procedure: 1. You apply to sit GAMSAT in your final or penultimate year. 1a. If results are unsatisfactory in your penultimate year, repeat in final year. 2. After receiving your GAMSAT result, you apply for application in your final year to the admission center (if your GPA is...

    BMedSci/BScience or BMBBS/BScience

I doubt there is a combined Med Science/Science degree, seeing it would be a bit redundant given the nature of the two courses. Only USyd offer the combined med degree, and you're looking at 99.95 as the "cut off".

    Where does one purchase ties?

They had Versace ties for $189. I wanted to buy one, but they were too much of a feature to themselves and didn't quite match any shirts I have. And you really don't want to pay less than $40 for a tie. They last a long time, so why not get yourself a nice silk tie?

    The Mathew Johns Sex scandal.

To those saying that Johns deserved the treatment despite the woman being a willing participant according to eyewitnesses, take this analogy. Suppose I were to ride a roller coaster because I thought it was fun. And it was fun, until the last section, where I claim I was traumitised by the...

    The Mathew Johns Sex scandal.

I would have no problem with Nine standing Johns down if he was an employee of Nine at the time of the incident. This was seven years ago, and if legally he has still done nothing wrong, why should Nine penalise him? He was investigated and cleared, and he has apologised in the past, so why...

    The Mathew Johns Sex scandal.

My question is that if Johns was married at the time (I'm not too sure, but I assume so), why was he having sex with someone else? I can understand players wanting to have some fun after a game which might result in accusations of sexual assault, but why adultery? However, I believe what Nine...

    Oliver Heaviside

WTF? If you are using the half value convention, then in the year he was born and died, his life was 'half'. Otherwise, he wasn't really around in the year he died because that side of the interval is open with boundary 1925.

    Confusing log[sub]e[/sub],log[sub]10[/sub] & log

Which is why he is viewed more favourably by mathematicians than other school teachers. There is also strong agreement between statisticians that the "statistics" and probability taught at high school is not doing stats justice. \log is base e. There is virtually no reason why base 10 (or any...

    Studying two degrees at once?

Timetabling and funding issues, for starters. They are governed by the resolutions of the university, so in short the senate disallows it.
