    usyd open day

It's a very good idea to go. I went and it helped me get an idea of whether or not Sydney Uni was the right uni for me and clarify a few misconceptions and ideas I had in my head. Although USyd info day definately has way too few freebies :D

    2004 USyd Cut-offs

That's what I was thinking. However, if they stayed the same across 2002-2003, there's probably a good chance they're not going to move too much in 2004.

    2004 USyd Cut-offs

I plugged the UOW UAI cut-offs in to the spreadsheet (and changed the rounding a bit -- UOW UAIs don't seem to *ever* have anything after the decimal place.) Nothing particularly exciting in this one, however :)

    HELP- HSC exam mark question

Achieving the minimum standard which is expected basically means that you have some idea about the content. This means that very few people get < 50 (i.e. get a Band 1). Have a look at the stats at the Board's site (http://www.boardofstudies.nsw.edu.au/ebos/static/BDHSC_2003_12.htm) for how many...

I'm going to Sydney Uni because that's where all my preferences are, but I would've liked to go to UTS for the freebies :D

Guys, can I get some advice from you?

There's not any major difference between universities other than location and perceived prestige.

wats soo banged up about this yr n last yr

There are two possible explanations: 1. You wrote like that in the English exam, and at least 2 units of English are always counted towards the UAI calculation. 2. The candidature, as a whole, got better marks this year. Now that the 'new' HSC isn't quite so new anymore, students, teachers...

    PIN number?

Grrrr! I mistyped my PIN into studentsonline back in September a couple of times and had to get it reset, so I was stuck with one PIN for UAC and one for the Board. Today, tried to log on to check my results with my UAC number and UAC PIN...no go. Tried with my student number and my Board...

    2004 USyd Cut-offs

I've been fiddling around in a spreadsheet program (trying to take my mind off the wait for UAIs!) and I've come up with some guesstimates for the 2004 main round UAI cut-offs at Sydney Uni for next year. The numbers are based on the trend between 2002 and 2003 overall at Sydney Uni and the...

    UAI confusion

All I was implying is that, when there's a different IP, there's usually a different server on the other end ;) I thought you were saying that hscresults was just redirecting to bosho, like studentsonline does. Incidentally and unimportantly, bosho = 203.185.212.211, which is owned by...

    UAI confusion

To quote from http://www.boardofstudies.nsw.edu.au/syllabus_hsc/hsc_results_03.html: hscresults is currently showing a layout similar to studentsonline, but with a different logo. It is also *not* serving pages from bosho, has a different IP and has the Shazian tag which is, IIRC, not on...

A thread dedicated to our most Helpful member Sam D

And in the process deny how many other people access to the book? Seriously, if you want it, go buy it. You'll probably be able to sell it at the end of year 12 anyway.

    study periods

My study periods were supervised, with the roll marked by the teacher. Some were in the library, others were in normal classrooms (in the classroom ones we were packed in like sardines.) Basically we could either read or do work in silence (unless we had the teacher nicknamed by some as the...
