Was gonna have "CONSUMERIST", but apparently we can only have 10 characters, so they told me I could have a "subsidy" of it. I'm just getting 'Hayden'. Fuckers.

HCG seems to be a case of "you either get it or you dont"; my teacher has suggested that more practice = improvement, but this doesn't seem to be effective. Is there a more effective way to improve in HCG? Any particular textbooks which cover it well? Thanks.

Possibly a stupid question but what's the most effective method of doing this? i.e Study guide questions, making plot summaries...

Blacktown has like 10+ opp shops, most of which haven't been picked clean. Try the huge salvos near the old AMF and "Catch of the day" on Main st. Otherwise I avoid Blacktown at all costs.

How many free periods do you get every day? If you get one or two, actually USE them, that's almost 1 or 2 hours, Then you have the whole afternoon/evening to get two more done. That's almost 3/4 hours and plenty of breaks (That said I do no work during actual lessons)

how much time should we be spending on getting a deep knowledge of our texts compared to time spent perfecting our essays? which is more important?

Me, along with another small slice of my grade are only doing 10U. But the 99.95 kids are doing 12-13U (or are doing 10U but accelerated in 2U)

We didn't have assessments for some subjects so i didn't do any work for them in term 4, just focused on assessment tasks; So i will be doing a bit of catching up. I'd recommend catching up (and reading your texts), but I doubt you should be spending your summer holidays studying ahead...

Read your english texts and start studying for whatever T1 assessment tasks you have; this gives yourself an advantage over the rest of your cohort.

You need to consolidate information from all of your sources. I've found the best way to do this is handwriting your notes (typing may look prettier but isn't as effective), then memorising them (if they're not too extensive). But notes are nowhere near as useful as past papers and practice Q's

It helped me alot in prelim :)
