Really? I can't remember the last time I saw a university list a prerequisite for enrolment. Loads have assumed knowledge but that's not the same thing. Edit: Checked USYD and UNSW neither have prereqs. Not sure if prereqs are still an ACT thing.

Yes, the assumption is that the two go together. The sad thing is that higher education, especially in Year 11 and 12, is so marks-centric that it's encouraging incredibly risk-averse behaviour. It's that fear of being 'wrong' which is ironically stopping people from thinking independently...

I'm definitely considering one. I use one of those Pocket WiFi modems at work and the battery life on the device is atrocious. Would be interested if it could work well with a MBA as well but considering that would be more thirsty, I figure that I would lose out on much of the portability.
