I doubt it. Not that I have any authority to speak on this matter, but I still doubt it. :D

Uni's often inflate the cut-off just slightly. Whether it's to look more prestigious or something, who knows. But many courses at many uni's do it. Sometimes people will get in just very, very slightly under the cut-off.

the thing is the cut off for that course in your sig is so high already, it can't really fluctuate that much. although i have similar concerns about the course i wanna do. best not to worry, because it'll probably be fine. fingers crossed for the both of us. :)

no, i mean like why do people get early offers in rounds other than the main round.. i thought it was just if you were non-year 12 or disadvantaged or something...

i got a few friends that go there... they seem to like it, but they're doing accounting, which MQ is good for. a nice area, although a bitch to get to from where i am, and a good social life i guess (conception day, etc).

uh yeah it does. lol doesn't necessarily mean you got the highest UAI/ATAR out of everyone you know, but pretty sure it means you still did well.

in regards to no. 1 - no, you aren't disadvantaged. say hypothetically someone got 97 for their atar, put a course that had a cut off of 98 as preference no. 1 first, and then a course that had a cut off of 96 for no. 2. you would be given first priority for a place in the course for preference...

Okay, well I'm looking to do Media and Comm. at Sydney next year, and I'm really confused by the whole Part A/B majors thing. Do we just choose one other major or two? Not that it really matters much at this early point in time, I'm just wondering. Also, anyone know if Sociology/Social Policy...

just relax. we did fuck all in the first term of year 12. i would just relax, maybe do some notes and work on your major works over the holidays. right now is the easiest it's going to be for the rest of year 12.
