    So....who's given up?

I seriously wonder how many people will off themselves/ hurt themselves over this miniscule piece of crap. A mate of mine got 99% 3 years ago. NO ONE cares now, he's doing uni with another friend who got 64%. Albeit a year later but the goals are being reached all the same. A year ago I...

is my creative 'belonging' story idea suitable?

I got 15/15 for trials, marked by English teacher who has marked exams for over 10 years. A story I did based on your own personal real life experience, written beautifully (Lots of metaphors) can't go wrong. If it's simple. Ie. Going shopping at IGA in Parramatta as opposed to usually...

You have your perceptions which are shaped within contexts and I assume would be the basis of the question: -personal -social -historical -and cultural Any of the following branch out from the above 4 and are the connections/relationships we belong/do not belong: -People -Places...

    ZOMG!!its today

I think paper 1 should be the easier one. If you haven't studied and you can't bullshoot your way out of a wet paper bag you can't expect to do well. But people who have common sense and good comprehension and adaptation skills should do fine. And I am so calm about this?! I had a friend...

    module c (into the world)

Into the world is eerily similar to journeys, to me anyway. Depending on your text: talk about strength in character, importance of family support/society support, importance of determination and commitment, The obstacles (Social, political, cultural, personal, economical etc) preventing an...

am i on the right track ? (please help)

For example n the film Billy Elliot, Daldry puts powerful emphasis on metaphors. Markers love metaphors trust me ;) He uses the "door" motif extensively; Billy's first initial glimpse of the new world of ballet is originally through the gap of a door (however roughly made it was). He bursts...

I am aiming for 92+ (raw) Words can be beautiful and are comforting for me, I love English. I'm lame. :) Anyone else suffer tendencies to look for conspiracies/subliminal meanings... Just too far in depth into a text?

    related text simple gift

I was told by my teacher if the foundations of your argument to an essay question is asking and The Simple Gift is willing, it is fine. So no incest. Using the text in other modules is fine. Ie Simple Gift in "Into the World" question (if it is a society/subconcious integration/personal...

    Really lost

Into the world for Billy Elliot; Transitions from one thing to the next. The journey from scummy coal miner class to talented ballet. Have you even studied Billy Elliot? Seen it? I don't know, maybe you're doing the thing I was doing and going too far in depth when it's only basic standard...

how many related texts do we need for distinctive voices

It IS only one. Then for me it is 2 for belonging, 2 for into the world. THAT IS ALL! I'm so sick of that rumour, making me second guess myself.

Belonging is just a state of mind

Belonging is always a PERCEPTION. eg. A random person driving past a group of school girls in uniform in the quad- Driver sees them as a group due to placement, uniform, age group etc. They belong. A girl could feel she does not belong, and is in fact being bullied. It depends on people...

    Witness

Can't stress this enough. Use more vague scenes for examples. Avoid using popular scenes like the homicide, gunfight and the yelling match between Book and Paul (LOL), the "What a wonderful world(it would be...). Markers will look nicer on stuff they haven't read a million times before...

    language techniques in exam essay

No. No we don't. I was told not to use every single technique ever used in the entire text. There are ways to single out the better ones... For studying a text ie film, it is important NOT to use overly popular or obviously related scenes. If markers read the same crap over and over again...
