If you choose what you like, you will likely be better prospective employee, so your job prospects are likely to be best in a field you enjoy. Choosing a uni course based upon what you perceive to be better job prospects and pay is not the way to go.

Going to USyd or UNSW won't guarantee you a job either. ;) It's more or less the same anywhere. I can say that most of us USyd law kids don't expect to be gifted jobs the moment we graduate. Will more USyd and UNSW students get jobs in the top-tiers than UWS? Likely. But that's nothing to do...

Being social (and having friends) and going out and getting trashed every Friday and Saturday night are two very different things.

Yeah, but in uni, you have to make the effort to do that. In school, there's more structure for that to occur, so it's only natural for you to make friends (and it's easier).
