    Homosexuality in Australia

But didn't you say that faith isn't a choice earlier? I can't see how anyone would come to any conclusion but this. Despite my best effort, I just can't believe in God. I think it would be really nice to believe in God, but I don't. Not my fault. Maybe he's given you all the evidence you...

Aussies arrested for downloading child rape vid

Re: This made me sick Victimless in that no-one is physically hurt through the act of watching the porn, but the child abuse is extended by the distribution of the porn. Plus, there's that whole supply and demand thing. More people watching child porn = more people making child porn.

Yep. The HSC really is happening T_T

I've gotten into the habit of writing the number of days left till my last exam on my left hand. I end on the 4th, sooooooo 157 now.

    UAI Estimate :S

I would say mid to high 90s. There isn't much ground for improvement; you could quite easily aim for the 99 region at this point. Your school makes mine look pathetic. We've got 18 Maths extension students, 4oish Maths 2u students. General Maths is the buzz nowadays.

    Homosexuality in Australia

I am unaware of any prohibition with regards to the topic of homsexual handjobs and fellatio. Someone tell the man, he seems quite anxious to find out. I count 4 question marks at the end of his inquiry.

    Homosexuality in Australia

"This one" being what, the existence of God? Well duh you're going to tell us to fuck off. Quite fervently so. That will not, however, quench my thirst for knowledge on this topic. This may seem arrogant, but I simply cannot understand why people believe in God. I have Christian friends who say...

    Homosexuality in Australia

When I said "Baseless claims", I should have said "Basele ss claim". This claim, which forms the basis of all religions, is that there is a God. Even if you accept the existence of Jesus (which I do) and all his itty bitty miracles (which I don't), there will forever be a LEAP of faith (for what...

    Homosexuality in Australia

But here's the thing, modifying scientific laws and theorizing new ones is not the same as the "baseless claims" that constitute the basis of all religion. Many/most scientist still call the "Big bang" a theory, because, as of yet, it can't be proven. It just fits pretty well with the given...

    Homosexuality in Australia

Hmmm, if faith isn't a matter of choice, and the only way to salvation is faith, and I don't have faith, and I can't "choose" faith into existence, then from your point of view, I must be pretty fucked, right?

    Homosexuality in Australia

Beyond our current scientific knowledge does not translate automatically to "religious". Any unknown science is indistinguishable from magic.

How did you go in your half yearlies?

What do you mean you "overstudied". Did you burn out or something?

    Homosexuality in Australia

I don't understand. Are you agreeing with me? I can't tell... I was merely repeating an often-asked and perfectly reasonable question. I don't see why we should appoint God as the "religious trigger" of all that is rather than, say, the big bang. Personally, I don't believe in the first and am...

If I did so "concede", it would not be by way of choice.

The concept of love fantastical enough without cheapening it with horseshit rationale and tales of the supernatural. Plus: if all love comes from God, where does God come from? etc. etc.

    Homosexuality in Australia

In what way is it our free will that defines whether or not we believe in God? Faith is very similar to simple belief in that there is no choice in the matter. I can't choose to believe in God in more than I can choose to believe 1 + 1 = 2.
