Did anybody not write a short story?

I reiterate- prose poem = lyrical, abstract short story = poetic prose. Plus, the whole thing wasn't prose poetry anyway, it was half and half.

    Concrete Poetry and EE2

eckh, exams. paper 1 went alright, I thought. essay question was tops. as always I pondered the creative too much, had to remind myself I wasn't writing a poem (although, I sort of wrote a prose poem...long story. Let's just hope it does well) Hmm, shape poetry does have an awful...

    Should I do poetry?

Hmmmmmmmm... Find a concept first, and see if you can write about it. I know this sounds judgemental, but writing about emotional periods in your life is not going to wash well with markers, considering the 'teenager trash angsty poetry' stigma. Also, try maybe giving a sample of this poetry...

    Concrete Poetry and EE2

Tsup, Subdogs. Hmm, well, an 08'er on this site called frezbo got 50/50, and they used concretism quite extensively. Also, isn't one of the poetry items in like the 07 Showcase full of shape poems..?

Please Enlighten Me - Ext 2 English, things we need to know

Start writing stuff in your logbook NOW. Truly, I did most of the research/conceptualising in the first term of year 12 before the Christmas holidays, and it saved me SO much time/effort. Later on in the year all my friends were freaking and I'd already done the majority of my major- it also...

Haha, let's hope so- my short answers were dangerously bad.

    Section 3 - Extended Response

Re: How did you address the essay question? Described 'belonging' as a notion that has the ability to be both nourishing and destructive, then talked about how firstly a sense of 'contextual understanding' was imperative to achieving a sense of belonging, as was 'an understanding of personal...

Will they screw us over for Paper 2?

This thread is the result of mass paranoia. Anyway, seeing that I'm doing two electives/texts that have never been done before 'Exploring Connections' (Mod C) and 'Conflicting Perspectives' (Mod A), it would just be cruel to give us a feature article/transcript/whatever the first year it's...

Did anybody not write a short story?

One booklet. So, 8 pages? I kind of intercepted the prose poem with short story-esque colloquial writing to break it up a bit, and give it a point of contrast. It was from the perspective of a baby in the womb, which then switched to the varying stages of childbirth from the mother's...

Did anybody not write a short story?

I wrote a prose poem...(just a very lyrical short story, ha!) Just wanted to know who else didn't write a story. After all it did say 'imaginative piece' = any creative conventions you want.

So who didn't title their story

I remembered when the supervisor said 'CEASE WRITING' (I always thought they were supposed to say 'pens down'... anyway) and quickly came up with some random title. I think it was 'Motherland'

    How many related texts???

"Demonstrate how your prescribed text and ONE other related text of your own choosing represent this interpretation of belonging" Err, not sure how you can twist that to make it sound like two. In any way. Ever.

General Thoughts: English Paper 1 (AOS)

well then why did it say ONE in an intimidatingly uppercase fashion?

General Thoughts: English Paper 1 (AOS)

The one related text thing was kind of sucky for those who memorised essays. Did you realise that they asked for one less related text, but there was one more short answer text? Hated that extra nonfiction short answer text as well- what kind of techniques were there...structure? tone...

    ZOMG!!its today

hey, be happy you people HAVE a prepared creative. I got so caught up in the essay (analytical skills = shiteous), that I am going to hope for a spark of inspiration in the exam. I tried to justify the decision by telling myself I did 4 unit english...then I remembered the major hasn't been...
