Hmmmmmmmm... Find a concept first, and see if you can write about it. I know this sounds judgemental, but writing about emotional periods in your life is not going to wash well with markers, considering the 'teenager trash angsty poetry' stigma. Also, try maybe giving a sample of this poetry...

I wrote a prose poem...(just a very lyrical short story, ha!) Just wanted to know who else didn't write a story. After all it did say 'imaginative piece' = any creative conventions you want.
