    A Question of Christian Theology

OMGOMGOMGOMG I'm pretty sure it's spelt HAPPENED. But yeah. It's not that science doesn't have answers for these things. It's that you're a narrow-minded bigot who doesn't have a clue what to believe and are afraid of empirical fact, which is why you choose to argue in this shallow way...

    Churches allowed to discriminate

Yeah I agree it's a very reactionary position. Of course discrimination laws are a good thing. But to our Libertarian friends, they're just an 'initiation of force' against the 'liberty' of the individual's right to discriminate against others. So yes, a black person drinking from the...

    A Question of Christian Theology

Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed Movie Reviews, Pictures - Rotten Tomatoes Turns out film critics can't see the truth either. But seriously, I think you should stop posting.

Should individuals/groups have the right to secede from the state?

I fear you are soon to be torn to shreds.

Can you be Christian, and support the existance of the state?

I would be intrigued to see anyone's moral 'justification' for, say, raping children. Moral values are not created ex nihilo, but proceed from premises such as universality ('do unto others as you would have done unto yourself') or whatever. A moral judgement that all humans have the right to...

Can you be Christian, and support the existance of the state?

Personal discretion. There are no absolute morals anyway. As an anarcho-capitalist who believes in the malleability of the human experience, you should agree with me on this one.

Can you be Christian, and support the existance of the state?

The Christian moral code isn't exactly unique to Christianity. I'm a strong atheist, and I believe that 'thou shalt not kill', so to speak, more strongly than I suspect many Christians do. Morals don't just vanish into thin air in the absence of religion.

Can you be Christian, and support the existance of the state?

Yes, and these 'greedy people' as a sum total represent organised religion. You are right, the bible is very clear on this subject. Look up 1 Corinthians 16:1-2: "On the first day of every week, each one of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with his income, saving it up, so that...

Can you be Christian, and support the existance of the state?

On the subject of taxes: Tithe - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Which, even in the time of the bible, became a form of tax.

    Anarcho-capitalists, I'm calling you out....

This technically would be true apart from the fact that it is pointless to apply such absolute notions of failure to governments. What constitutes failure? One case? Ten percent of the total amount of cases? If anyone attempts to apply such a definition, the result would simply reflect their...

Should individuals/groups have the right to secede from the state?

Quite true. Whether it would be a good idea for any or all parties involved, however, is not quite so certain.

Should individuals/groups have the right to secede from the state?

While I disagree with your anarcho-capitalist premises leading to the right to secede, I do think that individuals/groups should have a right to secede from the state, perhaps for other reasons or motivated by other ideologies as well.

K Rudd's obsession with saving the planet from global warming.

I get the feeling he was being sarcastic. If not, +1.

    Anarcho-capitalists, I'm calling you out....

With due respect to your points on this issue (which tbh I think are fair enough) we are straying off-topic. I can't find any reference to this law. Could you link it for me please? Besides, one is perfectly capable of renouncing their citizenship once they turn 18 and becoming a stateless...

    Anarcho-capitalists, I'm calling you out....

No, that's the police's job. The role of the judiciary is to interpret the law. No judge would acquiesce to that lame-duck defense.

    Anarcho-capitalists, I'm calling you out....

Just quickly, what about the judiciary? An institution unanswerable to the police and empowered to act against them?

    Anarcho-capitalists, I'm calling you out....

Edit: A more progressive tax system. Actually, they do have this automatic power of attorney. Until a person has reached the age of majority, their parents or guardians are legally required to sign contracts on their behalf. In fact, one of the definitions of the age of majority is the legal...

    Anarcho-capitalists, I'm calling you out....

It's a shame that you consider mine to be an argument only of semantics, because the fact is that by doing so you have ignored what is indisputable the elephant in the room: the role of power. Unfortunately it is you who is equivocating on the meaning of words like 'freedom', which in any...

    Will Rudd surpass Keating?

Yeah the filter's a joke, I agree with you there. People have been complaining about boastful politicians since time immemorial, but the truth is that talking yourself up is a great way to amass political capital. So the cynicism's fair enough to an extent, but I think it also pays to recognise...

    Will Rudd surpass Keating?

Well, obviously. But it is being done. Rudd's not far past the halfway mark of his first term. It's not as though reform (even small-scale) happens overnight.
