    Concerns about 4 unit

Well most of the 'hard' circle geom in 4U just need u to recognise some kind of cyclic quad relationship and then you can work from there.

4 Unit HSC Past Papers Before 1985

The syllabus was changed in 1981. Interestingly, quite a considerable amount of questions in the 1981 paper was taken from the Coroneos 4U supplement book. Esp the circular motion bits.

    Define the universe.

Because the prelim course is "assumed knowledge" for the HSC and technically therefore they could ask it in the final HSC exam. Indeed the last multiple choice question for the 2009 paper (and some others from previous years), IIRC, was a prelim queston.

    Projectile Motion

I think I pretty much burned you with that probability question :P If you're talking about the eqns of motion then you wont get 1 mark for each formula (ie. for x, dx/dt, y, dy/dt). They don't mark that way in the HSC generally.

    Projectile Motion

You mean, more like 6 or 7 marks?

    Is math tutor necessary?

Well, I didn't need any tutoring for Maths. There are some good tutors out there but some of them are just hopeless (check out the tutoring forum for some "exemplars"...)

    Concerns about 4 unit

Graphs is the easiest by far, then Mechanics is next then Complex Numbers, Polynomials, Integration, Volumes are in the same boat (just a tad harder than mechanics). Then my next choice would be conics (proofs) and harder 3U.

Best book on extension2 while in year 11

Because he had a heart attack last year =\ So I'm guessing that his health isn't too good atm... :(

    double angle integration

SKB = teacher of scardizzle. I used to have him for the majority of Year 11/12. I'd say that he is one of the best teachers in the state. BTW, this question could be done using integration by parts. You would get the original integral by 2 applications of IPB and then you could work out what...

    double angle integration

Well if you have SKB then yes you should :P But generally in the HSC they ask you to prove it in a previous part if you need to use the result.

    Volumes Question

Basically it's the same as taking slices. Patel likes to call it the "washer method" though.

    Freaking out about maths.

Well that doesn't mean that you can use L'Hopital's rules for fundemental limit type questions... In the HSC they'll make the papers so that 3U candidates are not advantaged because they know, for instance, integration by parts. Similiarly for 4U and 3U.

Contact at Board of Studies for Complaint?

Reminds me of what my Physics teacher told me when he taught preliminary 2U for a year in 2000. He put differentiation involving fractions in a test and got into trouble because the other class hadn't done that yet ..... :S (ie. they had done differentiation, but not with fractions......)...

    confusion with log integrals

You don't do hyperbolic functions in 4U...

    Preliminary mathematics marathon

Just like how, to the peril of many, non uniform circular motion hasn't been asked since 1981 ;) (ie. in Ext 2)

    Prelim contents tested in HSC?

Yet there was a multiple choice question in the 2009 HSC which I thought was Prelim and came out of this prelim topic.
