Anything under 2kg shouldn't be too bad... Netbooks are lighter then that though. Highly recommend the MSI Wind. 12" Netbooks might be a bit more suitable for people that can't stand a 10" screen.

IBM Laptops tend to be reliable, very sturdy too (even though they look bad LOL) Unless it's the Ideapad series that is :) I considered getting a 9 cell battery once before, but it made the laptop more bulky =/ @above poster: MSI Wind U100's rock xD

How do the lecturers take students using laptops? I've used one most of the time during HSC (not to play games lol) Gotten kinda used to it, so I might be using it during Uni as well since I like to keep my notes digitized.
