    Who`s spplying for scholarships & where ?

Hmmm...this sounds quite promising, really. And there's no harm in applying. getting 95 shouldnt be too hard, and i definitely have alot of the type of extracurricular theyre looking for... I'm not so keen on the part about including your school report though, is there anyway you can fudge...

    Preferences?

Re: First Preferences? That might be good for me...but I hate journalists with a passion. Oh well. My top preference would be arts/law sydney uni, then the same again at unsw, uts and anu. Then after that either psychology or liberal studies at usyd.

    Uni Open Days

Re: UAC booklet Do the open days actually tell you anything worthwhile? Or are they the typical lectures where they tell you all the stuff you always knew before such as the UAI cut-offs/entry options, the "transition" from school to uni, all the opportunities the course has etc...

    Study for trials

You all suck. I started studying for my trials this morning. That wouldnt be so bad if my first trial exam (eng paper 1) wasn't this afternoon... I just can't get motivated at all compared to everyone else :( Like I'll sit down, have to revise the course with a foot-high pile of sheets in...

HARRY POTTER & THE DEATHLY HALLOWS - thoughts (SPOILERS!!)

I haven't been on BoS trolling harry potter threads for ages... Here are some interesting things that none of you have probably mentioned. Remember in book 3 when Trelawney refused to go to sit down at Christmas lunch because 12 people were there and she said "When 13 dine together the first...

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - 21 July 2007 (NO SPOILERS)

I don't know.... that seems too expected. I do agree, all the mauraderers (well, remus and pettigrew are all thats left) will bite it. HarryMort is also clear. Neville/Bellatrix? It would be really satisfying, but does neville have the ability, or the willpower to kill? Also, BJ Borders is my...

    retreat from the global

Theres a proper forum for rftg, with huuuuge thread about supplementaries... I wouldn't use that as a supplementary text, its a bit limited.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

It is really bizarre... First movie he never wears anything but robes, it seems, but now characters like hermione are taking any opportunity to try and look hot in normal clothes and half of hogwarts is running around like little muggles. Malfoy, surely you've come to expect that after all...

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

I saw it with the most vocal crowd ever on release day. There was booing of umbridge, cheering at right moments, people (okay it was me) shouting lumos when the lights came on at the end of the movie. The crowd pretty much exploded at the bit where umbridge said "Boys and girls must be 8 inches...

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - 21 July 2007 (NO SPOILERS)

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - 21 July 2007 (NO SPOILERS)

I think you have to acknowledge the simplicity is simply a product of the genre - kids fantasy books. But if you read between the lines, theres alot you can analyse in the "bad" guys. I think its intentional that the "baddies" are FAR more interesting that harry. To me, harry is a boring little...

    marking??

No, its done on ranks not marks. Sounds like your either insanely good and will get 50 external, and a 1st place internal which = 50. Or your school marks really easy.

Well now you know what the course is about moreso then when you first began your journal, you can fake a mad introverted, reflective journal of win.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - 21 July 2007 (NO SPOILERS)

I didn't miss sirius, basically because he was characterised as such a badass but did nothing memorably heroic and badass in books 4/5. I really wanted to see him kick some ass and get some back, not hide in caves and his mothers house and cop a spell to the chest.
