Are we are allow to use L'Hospital's Rule for lim question

In first year maths at sydney uni our lecturer told us not to use L'Hopital's rule for sinx/x because it is used when establishing d/dx(sinx), creating a circular argument. There is another way to set up the trig functions that bypasses the issue but it just might be worth noting.

The guy at info day said 99.00 ATAR + a band 6 in science OR 95 in 4u maths. And it can be lower if you have done international olympiad.

    Quantitative Risk(UNSW) vs Financial Maths + Stats(USyd)

Thanks Trebla that's really helpful, I'm not as interested in the actuary side. @muzeikchun I think the cutoff is 95+ for both 3/4u. @dionb Yeah I'm pretty sure you're right, you'd have to go overseas for a MFE.

    Quantitative Risk(UNSW) vs Financial Maths + Stats(USyd)

I'm guessing they base it off your 3/4u marks muzeikchun. So assuming one got into Quant. Risk, is there much difference in the actual coursework from USyd's financial maths major?

    line of best fit

If it's a linear relationship then do a straight line. eg Swinging Pendulum graphing T^2 vs l. If it's not a linear relationship then do a curved line eg most projectile motion stuff (which I'm guessing the pic is)

    Quantitative Risk(UNSW) vs Financial Maths + Stats(USyd)

Hey guys, is there much difference between these two majors? Does one offer an advantage over the other? The only difference I can really tell is that UNSW has a few commerce subjects in there. UNSW Quantitative Risk: http://www.handbook.unsw.edu.au/undergraduate/plans/2012/MATHR13986.html...

    Faking critic quotes

Fair enough, that makes sense. I went into my trials without critics thinking this, but was marked down. Could you expand on how to more effectively "show"? Also, it seems that there are a substantial number of markers that seem to think that critics is the way to go. I could be wrong, (perhaps...
