Post: what subjects have you changed and why?

Business Studies to Drama. I couldn't stand Business Studies. I'm glad I did change, because the teacher who took the class I have severe personality clashes with. Drama's something fun to do anyway, something I really enjoy doing, and will be more relevant to me after school. It's much easier...

    Australian Science Olympiads

Re: Science Olympiads Where could one find information about doing the entrance exam for this thing? I saw that show on the ABC last year with the Science Olympiad kids and thought it was amazing.

    School Certificate to be scrapped

I think the most important thing is that the system of the School Certificate and having assessments prepares students for what is going to happen in the next two years. There should still be some kind of assessment system in place, under standard assessment rules, in Year 10. I personally found...

Law Society of NSW's Inter School Mock Trial

Prepare what parts of your statement that you can at home then fill in the rest in the ten minutes that you get at the trial.

    How was your school day?

We did that yesterday. Our teacher used silver nitrate and he put it on the overhead projector. It was terrible, nothing happened at all. We were trying to look at the decomposition of silver salts.

WHat are your goals, what do you want to be when you leave school?

I'd like to be an arts industry business mogul when I grow up. That sounds somewhat like an oxymoron, but I'll make it happen. Not rly.

UNSW Faculty of Law Essay Comp

Is there anyone else being forced to write an essay by their Extension teacher on the topic from this competition? For those who haven't heard about it... "The Government should not interefere in people's right to practice their religion." I haven't a clue where to start. Anybody got any ideas?

    How was your school day?

Today was just beautiful. Start at 8:40, finish at 12:15 and have the afternoon completely to myself to... er... do homework and that. o_O

Law Society of NSW's Inter School Mock Trial

Definitely. It's so much easier to go into the next mock trial having a grasp of procedure and how to conduct the case having done the practise round. I feel a lot more confident going into Round 2 having completed a practice trial, because I know what's going to happen. Just out of curiosity...

    '07 Preliminary Roll Call

Considering only four people managed a UAI of 100 last year, I think it's best not to aim for such lofty heights... although it's a nice bragging point, isn't it? ;)

what TYPE of school do u go to?

Re: Public School vs. Private Exactly, so long as you do your best you'll do well no matter where you are. I just think that if a child doesn't want to learn or is too distracted to learn, it doesn't matter whether you send them to a public school or a private school.

Best+Worst of Teacher Quotes and Habits

Back in Yr 7, one of the lads was doing something he shouldn't have been in an Art class, and our teacher suddenly yelled "stop levitating, young man!" English teacher last year discussing onomatopoeia: "can anyone show me a whiz?" And then there's Mr Carroll, the world's best maths teacher...

what assignments have you guys been given?

Modern essay on the the ways WW1 contributed to the downfall of the Romanov dynasty and an essay for Ext English about the government interferring with the practising of religion... apparently it's the essay question for some law competition. And that's it. I'm kind of scared.

Law Society of NSW's Inter School Mock Trial

Our practice mock trial went extremely well. The other school had no solicitor's notes whatsoever, but the magistrate still gave them a point for them. And they won by one point. Did any other school get the defence case and then the plaintiff's case? Because this happened in our trial too - the...

    ENGLISH! (All courses welcome =D)

Life of Pi is a fantastic book, but it can get heavy when he starts really throughly describing the biology & science of living with the animals... just stick with it. Eng. Adv. is change, text is Maestro by Peter Goldsworthy. Eng. Ext. is the alien self, currently studying Frankenstein.

Which subject are you getting the most homework from?

Chemistry, because my teacher sees fit to teach the entire syllabus through homework. I have hardly any homework for other subjects, which is scaring me a little.
