    Nero's reign after Agrippina

Agrippina is killed in 59. After that, Nero's reign goes substantially down hill... Boudiccan revolt, Great Fire, burning the Christians, deaths of Seneca and Burrus, Conspiracy of Piso and eventual suicide. You're looking at about a 5 year period.

    primary sources

Vitruvius' 'On architecture', Pliny's 'Letters to Tacitus', Seneca's comments on the Baths, Strabo's 'Geography', Martial and Cicero. These cover a variety of topics. I think Pliny, Seneca and Vitruvius are pretty straight forward and should be easy to find.

    major preliminary assessment...help

Are you referring to the Prelim Ancient Historical Investigation? Do something you're interested in, think about a signficant ancient person/event. Maybe ask your teacher which options you'll do in the HSC and then do something from the same society, Rome, Egypt etc... Ext History is hard and...

    JulioClaudians

A note from a HSC markers point of view. Do NOT ignore Gaius. If you're asked a question about 'in this period', that includes Gaius. There is also no guarantee that you'll be asked an individual Princeps question.

When as assignment seems impossible... :(

It's not futile. I would suggest that you go in search of archaeological evidence - look at the remains of the cities and what they tell you about the the various aspects you've listed. If you're searching the net and having trouble, look for the Friends of Herculaneum Society and the...

    Board of Studies Marking.

I don't know where you thought you were, but you weren't at HSC Ancient marking. What you are describing did not happen. You're giving students, who clearly need direction, information that is not accurate. We do not pass papers to our left, in fact we don't pass them anywhere. The allocation...

    The Problem of Pamela Bradley

That's actually not true. As an HSC marker, I can tell you that we're more interested in students referring to a variety of ancient, modern and archaeological sources accurately, than which text you use. If you only quote Bradley, I wouldn't expect you to get into the top band. But, having said...

    Conspiracy Theories

Oh my god, please don't do something about conspiracy theories. Overdone and not really related to historiography. The focus of your work needs to be not on the event, but the changing interpretations of your event/issue etc. Appeasement is far too big a topic to cover in a 2500 word paper.
