Thanks for the AM/GM thing - now I'll have a small chance at the harder 3U questions!

Hang on! We haven't done any of this AM/GM stuff - is it a part of the course? Could someone please explain to me what it is and how to do it?

4u trial results, what did everyone get?

46% raw - although, when I went back and did it I got a lot higher - around the 75 - 80% range. I just froze in the exam - hope that doesn't happen in the HSC! edit: that was the CSSA trial, btw

    Foreign Investment on Aussie eco

Well, I was told to interpret impact on the economy as economic impact - however, thanks for pointing out that it might not be enough, I'll be sure to keep that in mind for the HSC. And thanks for the compliment - however, I think it may be a teensy-weensy bit too late to change schools to...

    E-frikin-fectiveness

That's funny (peculiar), because we included the same sort of criteria for looking at effectiveness eg. response to changing social values. I guess that pretty much mean one another - if you're asked about continuity and change, you'll have to talk about effectiveness and vice versa. And if...

    Exchange Rates

John Garnault said in the book that Gittins released - Australian Economy 2002 - that recent deprecitations are due to the herd mentality of investors - there's nothing especially sensible or logical about the movements. Long term, it's thought to be because of high inflation and worsening terms...

    Foreign Investment on Aussie eco

Yes, we are all incredibly talented here in Tamworth, if that's what you mean.... Thanks for the analysis of my answer: I wasn't looking for one. Maybe you were just wrong? And even if you weren't, try not to be so rude about it, ok? :) In regards to critical short-comings, I think you may...

    R U puting graphs/charts in your essays?

Tariff graphs too - if you get an essay on protection. They make it so much easier to explain the effects on an economy (Price increased from OP1 to OP2.... etc.). And don't forget exchange rate graphs. But, like everyone else has said - make sure they're relevant. And make sure you refer to it...

    Foreign Investment on Aussie eco

Here's my answer (slightly edited, 'cos when you're in an exam, your answers aren't always completely coherent! ;) ): "Foreign Investment has both positive and negative effects. It can generate growth, caused by increases in spending, and can lead to the creation of jobs. However, the...

    hardest topic

Definitely Harder 3U - in particular inequalities (which I just make up as I go along) and induction (ditto). Also Conics are a pain - I can do them, but I get so frustrated and you can end up on the completely wrong track and stay on it for half an hour without knowing. Easiest (not to say that...

    Who DOSN'T do Physics

I started Physics in Year 11, to make up for the fact that I couldn't do Chemistry (it was on at the same time as another subject I wanted to do...). Big mistake. I hated Physics - too boring. When they started vectors I was completely confused - so, I used it as an excuse to drop. And, lo and...
