    MS Surface Studio

Hahaha... I was watching the stream when it was happening. To be honest I can see this would be a bit of a niche device for designers who would make use of it, but I personally don't see it as useful for me. Maybe it's because I keep watching Linus Tech Tips but I feel like I should build my own...

Band 6 cut off? + Difficulty compared to previous years?

Does that work? I thought you needed to be able to apply the theory to some kind of scenario which is a very different style of response... *shrugs* Either way good luck to you guys to get your state ranking. I still remember when I was doing my HSC I didn't find the IPT exam as easy as others...

    IPT

I realise my post probably wasn't timely enough to be helpful but anyway, best wishes! Not much you can do now so good luck with your other exams.

Band 6 cut off? + Difficulty compared to previous years?

LOL I don't know how one knows they were studying for a state position in this subject given it's nearly impossible to compare your performance to people outside your school... but good luck!

Frameless glasses - yay or nay?

I'm back to my normal thick framed ones which feel a bit more durable.

    IPT

If you're getting 51% then it means you don't have the grasp of the fundamental concepts so I'd focus on getting those definitions/etc downpat. The higher mark areas from extended response come from being able to apply those fundamental concepts/definitions/etc. and whilst they can pay...

    Volunteer opportunities for teenagers?

Are we talking one off or regular volunteering? I used to do things like Red Shield appeal back in the day. I'm not sure if you can still do this but there's always stuff like clean up australia day, helping out with marathons/sporting events, visiting nursing homes, etc...

Career focussed at a young age and relationships

I totally forgot about this thread... but I've come to realise most of my friends (including myself) are now married approximately 10-11 years after finishing HSC - even those who were very career focussed. Not everyone stayed in the professional space and some of my finance friends have moved...

Frameless glasses - yay or nay?

I'm still wearing my thick framed nerdy ones... but they feel so stereotypical.

Frameless glasses - yay or nay?

Are frameless (rimless) glasses cool? I like them but my best friend said they're out of fashion now :(

Best course to do to swap into UNSW commerce?

Economics - at least then you can re-use the same subjects and not have to start from scratch.

    Forza Horizon 3

Nope, just has a few locations as far as I can tell (eg Byrons Bay, Surfers Paradise) and some generic ones (eg outback). They're all linked together but definitely not to scale (eg Byron Bay to Surfers Paradise is 11km). It's more just the novelty though of driving a ute on the left side of the...

My new dilemma when picking a car.

$100k, and wife insists on 4 doors since we have a dog and a baby coming in the future (date TBC). Also we anticipate to be moving house at least a couple of times. I'm very keen on GLC Coupe at the moment since it ticks the boxes, doesn't have P plate restriction issues like the X4/Macan, and...

    Forza Horizon 3

Anyone playing this? Been a while since we had any racing game base itself on any recognisable parts of Australia (PGR2 anyone?). Whilst there are some obvious inaccuracies in the map from a realism perspective, I'm finding it quite enjoyable to play. Even better is the cross play between my...

Level of English for BCom/ General questions

In all honesty I don't think it matters that much. It'll help in extended response type questions and on assignments but depending on university, you may be up against people with an extremely minimal or limited grasp of written English.

Do I have to do the exam in order?

I assume it's similar to other HSC papers in which case as long as it's not dependent on a preceding response, no reason you can't jump around. I never did extension 2 maths but in the other subjects I was happy to jump around.

    thai food

Can't go wrong with Thai. Better yet, it's cheap and decent. Favourite joints in Sydney: Home Thai, Holy Basil @ Shark Hotel and It's time for Thai (Kensington).

    2016 Ford Focus RS

I think the era of Evos/STIs is gone given that there are so many other cars offering the thrills for similar (or only a little more) bills... but with far more creature comforts/liveability. Whilst I said my Evo was a decent DD, the reality was it was full of compromises despite the price like...
