Relelvance of HSC Courses in Skill Building

Here is my list of subjects that in my opinion are the most skill building out of them all (top 4) 1. Mathematics Extension 1/2 2. Economics 3. Mathematics 2U 4. English Extension 1 First maths because it is great in providing logical thinking ability, makes people provide logical argument...

Relelvance of HSC Courses in Skill Building

That would be a great idea. 3U Physics, maybe even 3U Chemistry, and bring back 3U Economics I would like that.

Relelvance of HSC Courses in Skill Building

Well if they want to test their ability doing laughable papers like this http://www.boardofstudies.nsw.edu.au/hsc_exams/hsc2012exams/pdf_doc/2012-hsc-exam-general-maths.pdf then more the power to them, but if they want to Physics, then they need to adopt a calculus based course at the very...

Relelvance of HSC Courses in Skill Building

This is equivalent to the argument 'where am I going to use this in real life' Study of mathematics gives you great practise in logical thinking (moreso in extensions), in General maths its more plug and play from what I've seen. You learn to pay your taxes/loans in both 2U and General maths...

Relelvance of HSC Courses in Skill Building

This is a core problem with the HSC itself, why should they have to dumb down the Physics and Chemistry syllabus to exclude Calculus? Just because a couple of people think they can actually do Physics and Chemistry... If Physics and Chemistry had intense calculations I still would not like it...

Help - Derivation of formula for Pi

Reviving because there was a mistake in my working that eventually crashed everything, now that I have found my mistake, everything actually dissolves quite nicely =) I=\int_{0}^{\pi} \int_{\pi/2}^{\alpha} \frac{\sin 2n \theta}{2\sin \theta} \ d\theta \ d\alpha Integrating by parts, and I...

    New dutch laws regarding "multiculturalism"

We are civil, we aren't chimpanzees, if ethnics want to swap Australia then they will do via expressing their culture loudly and not practising anglo culture, which is happening and continuing to happen and will forever increase. And as you have admitted slowly your white supremacy culture will...

    New dutch laws regarding "multiculturalism"

If we are talking about integration of core values than nearly everyone is integrated anyway so there is no point for more integration if you are already satisfied with integration of core values, so there is no point in these anti-ethnic laws is there?

    New dutch laws regarding "multiculturalism"

Look at the above post, asian kids perform better than anglo kids, future society will mostly have succeeding Asian/other background people, no matter how much anglo's try and preserve their culture it will inevitably get destroyed (hopefully)

    New dutch laws regarding "multiculturalism"

But really, aren't the most intelligent people of today's kids not Anglo? Its now the asian kids who are winning in terms of education. It's only a stereotype because it consistently is fulfilled. What if in the end you anglos are just not as smart as the asians, by survival of the fittest you...

    New dutch laws regarding "multiculturalism"

I hate to draw this argument. But what made it justifiable for the Anglo people to invade the Aboriginal land? Why can't immigrants invade and impose their culture upon anglo's? I'm not talking about the morality of the invasion, I'm talking about how the perceived invasion of immigrants...

    Re: HSC 2013 3U Marathon Thread Making it easier: $Using the identity$ (1+x)^{n^2} = (1+x)^n (1+x)^n (1+x)^n \dots (1+x)^n

12 units or 10 units and Extension 2 maths

To be honest, don't drop anything you don't seem to have any real need to drop something, don't drop for the sake of 10 units. You have very good subject combinations and should be kept as is tbh, you aren't struggling in anything it seems so there is no point of dropping. Wait until the HYE...

    HSC 2013-14 MX1 Marathon (archive)

Re: HSC 2013 3U Marathon Thread Correct, though for the first part, it only comes down to simple inspection to notice that: d/dx \sin^n x = n\cos x \sin^{n-1} x Then we take constant to other side and etc.

    Re: HSC 2013 3U Marathon Thread $Prove that$ \ \ \ \ \int_0^{\pi/2}\cos x \sin^{n-1} x \ dx = \frac{1}{n} $Hence prove$ \ \ \ \sum_{k=1}^{n} \frac{1}{k} = \int_{0}^{\pi/2} \cos x \cdot \frac{1-\sin^n x}{1-\sin x} \ dx
