Does each person, have to have an integer number of gold, or can it be decimals (grammar?)?

Scaling, the good and the bad.

*scaling is like disadvantaging some students for not being able to do harder subjects. Pretty much this, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it either. Though it is the pessimistic approach. You can say it like that, or the optimistic one is "scaling is an advantage for some students...

Re: HSC 2012 Marathon :) Thats pretty much what I did, except Im guessing that because I condensed it so much, the latex editor decided to put the values there.

    Re: HSC 2012 Marathon :) Time for another question I guess. $Using the fact that$ \ \ (1+x)^{-n}=\frac{1}{(1+x)^n} \\ \\ $Show that$ \ \ \ -n 2^{-n-1}=-\left(\frac{\sum_{r=1}^{n} r \binom{n}{r}}{\left(\sum_{r=0}^n \binom {n}{r}}\right)^2 \right) Also Im trusting the fact that the values...

    Textbook Question

Or you can just buy Fitzpatrick which is worth 2 years of satisfactory questions. It doesn't do a great job of explaining, but Maths In Focus compliments it by going to the basics to an extent. You should try to figure out what you need the extra book for, is it resources or is it a more...

    Parabola Help.

Ok I get it, its asking the vertical line distance in terms of variable x. Thats fine then, ok the vertical distance between variable points: (x,\frac{mx+6}{3}) \ \ \ (x, \ln(x+1)) Is given by distance formula: D^2=(x-x)^2+(\frac{mx}{3}+2-\ln(x+1)) \\ \\ D=\frac{mx}{3}+2-\ln(x+1) \\...

So... like... HSC course begins in 3 months!

HSC subjects other than Math and Chemistry all suck. I dont have much to look forward too. I would say Physics doesnt suck, and it doesnt suck, Physics is awesome, but HSC Physics is the worst thing, and so is Preliminary physics.

"the vertical distance from the straight line to the curve is given by" Is that exactly what the question says? It doesnt really make sense.

    hard cambridge rates question

I have a soft copy of it on my desktop, I just typed page 266 and there was q12 so I assumed it is the right question, but of course since you have the hard copy, its probably more accurate because my soft copy might have different page numbers or something.

    Domain and asymptotes

For Vertical Asymptotes: Find x for which e^x+e^{-x}=0 \\ $no solution$ Therefore no vertical asymptotes. This might not be the only case however, in these cases, always look for certain function types that somehow restrict x in some way. But generally the denominator=0 is the way to find...

    hard cambridge rates question

The Question for others to try and correct me if possible: The present value of a company asset is $350 000. If it has been depreciating at 17.5% per annum for the last six years, what is the original value of the asset, correct to the nearest $1000. A_1=M(1-\frac{17.5}{100}) \\ A_6=M(0.825)^6...

    Parabola Help.

    Parabola form: y=ax^2+bx+c \\ y'=2ax+b \\ y=0 \ \ \Rightarrow \ \ x=0 \ \ x=4 \\ y'=0 \rightarrow \ \ y=-1 \ (x=2) \\ \\ \therefore 0=(4)^2a+4b+c \\ 0=0+0+c \\ \therefore c=0 \\ \therefore 16a+4b=0 \\ \\ pt(2, -1) \\ \\ -1=4a+2b \\ \\ \therefore a=\frac{1}{4} \ \ b=-1 \\ \\ \therfore...
