How is university different to high school?

http://www.coop.com.au/ or unit guides should tell you what textbooks you are expected (or in the first lecture the lecturer will tell you if they recommend it or not). You don't "have" to buy the textbooks, however sometimes its helpful. Sometimes the weekly submission questions come directly...

How is university different to high school?

Go to the lecturers for the first couple of week, see if the lecture slides they post are different or if you think the lectures are worth while attending. For some of my subjects the textbooks weren't worth getting, and didn't really help for studying the course at all.

How is university different to high school?

Someone I know doing music teaching?? (Might've been just music but I can't remember) didn't have their lectures recorded so it may vary by unit. And yes, it is very common to skip lectures, especially the ones that are scheduled "early".

How is university different to high school?

Because sometimes it is just a lecturer reading out the lecture slides, and that is fairly boring. They can't understand the accent of the lecturer. They sleep in, or put lectures on one day of the week, and don't want to come in that day. Lectures can be full of pretty irrelevant information...

How is university different to high school?

I'm not a fan of people loudly leaving just before either as its quite distracting too.

How is university different to high school?

All my lectures were recorded so if I desired I only needed to get out of bed for compulsory tutorials.

How is university different to high school?

If you have to leave, then it is polite to do it in the break (if the lecture is long and the lecturer has a break) rather then in the middle otherwise it is rude to the lecturer. Under no circumstance in a lecture hall ask to be excused to use the bathroom ;)

How is university different to high school?

Depends on the lecture time/amount of people in the lecture/how cramped(squished) the conditions are whether I'd be fine with people eating in the lecture. Food doesn't smell much/you don't make much of a noise is fine especially near meal times. But ideally the lecture would have enough space...

    Buses to UNSW

Concession is the same price when travelling in Opal zones. Student however is much more expensive. You use your student university card as a proof of concession if transport officers ask.

    Should I minor in Economics?

I recommend that you make an appointment with an academic advisor at your respective university institution. For example; Macquarie's link is below http://www.students.mq.edu.au/support/academic_advice
