    Smart Tattoos

I want to get sleeves of the first million digits of pi. (not serious). I do want a tat eventually, once I decide on one that means enough to me.

    UNSW Vs. USYD

100% better? I think not. I grant that it is slightly higher ranked, but this difference is not as large as you make it out to be. And for an undergraduate degree it hardly matters, I have friends who have completed eng degrees at both universities enjoying equal amounts of success.

    UNSW Vs. USYD

Most people here will not be able to give an unbiased opinion. For the record I went to USyd and found its science programme excellent, as well as its social life. My advice: visit both campuses, check out the bars and food courts etc and pick which one 'feels right'. Both will offer you an...

    UNSW vs. USyd?

I am from usyd and had an amazing time there. People there were pretty cool and social, the uni is very well recognised so its employability is right up there and generally the calibre of the academic staff is quite high. The campus is beautiful too.

    CSSA MX2 Trial

On the issue of rigour, it should be noted that the manipulation in the last question is only valid because the series in question is absolutely convergent.

Discussion: On girls that approach you at the train station... (Part II)

What is wrong with a random conversation with an attractive stranger? Not everything needs to be pursued man. You seriously need to find an outlet for all of this energy because spending it (over)thinking women clearly isn't working out for you.

    UNSW vs. USyd?

Respectfully beg to differ. I think the sandstone architecture of the older parts of Usyd is beautiful. It is the closest thing to the Oxbridge aesthetic that you can find in Aus really. That said, maths buildings are ugly the world over.

    Anyone use caffeine pills before?

Haha yep, brain and body felt fried. But by that stage I didn't need to come up with any new ideas, I just had to type everything up. So a mindless zombie was perfect for the task.

    Sittin on the toilet.

I also agree. I have actually sometimes had some great ideas in my sleep (in a slightly different manner to the shower revelations obviously), struggling with a problem for several days so that your mind becomes very familiar with its working. Then when you do things like sleep, shower, walk etc...

    Anyone use caffeine pills before?

No-Doz helped me push through the final stages of writing my honours thesis. I chucked roughly 1 all-nighter a week for the month leading to its submission. My body got kind of accustomed to the pattern haha.

    Maths at Uni

I do agree with carrot and math man in their claims that usyd>unsw, but that said, I want to emphasise that the difference isn't that large if you complete your entire undergrad degree there. Their senior units get more rigorous than their junior ones. I personally know a couple of graduates...
