With an auto SI makes a huge difference simply in terms of downshifts upon accelerator depression, but even driving in manual mode there is definetely a difference in engine response. driving in 'intelligent' as opposed to 'sport sharp' cuts about 17% of peak torque IIRC. Going along in...

    The Official 2007 AFL Thread

yeah i dunno about port, i don't think they're as good as sydney, eagles or adelaide for that matter - and they won't go too far in september. but they'll win plenty of home&away games nonetheless.

2007 Federal Election - Coalition or Labor/Howard or Rudd?

All I'm saying is that to be realistic in today's Australia, we have to acknowledge that the majority see low unemployment as the best signal for an economy, and therefore a country. I think that Rudd's team recognises this, and so are doing the best they can (whilst still sticking to the...

2007 Federal Election - Coalition or Labor/Howard or Rudd?

Sorry, that wasn't phrased properly. I meant that Howard generated the idea of ALP being "brash, irresponsible" economically (not helped by Latham - especially the brashness). I needed a new sentence there.

2007 Federal Election - Coalition or Labor/Howard or Rudd?

I agree with you completely in that higher taxes and a greater level of govt role/intervention leads to a far better society in terms of education, health, happiness for ALL....but I just don't think that Australian's (particularly WA voters - I lived in Perth until '05) see things that way. It...

2007 Federal Election - Coalition or Labor/Howard or Rudd?

I don't think that saying that will give Rudd points where it counts (unfortunately)....it sounds too pre-Australia's-mining/general-economy-boom. the idea of happiness now (for the chardonnay mcmansion owners) comes through tax cuts and unashamed capatilism on the whole... I guess that's...

2007 Federal Election - Coalition or Labor/Howard or Rudd?

Does anyone else find this slightly disturbing in terms of democratic ideals? I guess there's no real other way to do it if we have representative members. I think it might hurt libs a bit more, due to concentration in affluent seats, but I guess Nats might pull a few seats with less overall...

    Eco: Q's

Think a bit more deeply - if all countries increase subsidies there would be no net difference. Subsidies are only of any effect because they make one country (or industry) more protected than others. Think about the basic premise of a subsidy - domestic producers cannot compete on the global...

    Eco: Q's

Yep, NFD includes both principal and interest. That's why a depreciation can hurt our level of NFD and debt servicing ratio so badly, because not only does it raise the AUD amount of the principle, but the interest paid as well.

    Postmodernism Essay, HELP!

I did this question in last year's HSC, so might be able be able to help out! (though of course I had different texts to you...) First of all, I think it's important to simply think about postmodernism as (I know this is simple - but it's essentially the answer) a reaction to modernism. Where...
