Can i still get into sydney uni??

Im considering International and Global studies but got an atar of 89.80. With my subjects/marks I can receive 5 bonus points and last year the cutoff was 94.00. Will that be enough to get me in? Or is the course too competitive? Thanks :)

    Conflicting Perspectives

Who did Ted Hughes and Birthday Letters? I didn't really like the question because of the "diverse and provocative insights" or whatever it said because it didn't match that well with my thesis...Thoughts?

    Lorne/Torquay Schoolies-anyone going?

I was thinking about going to Lorne for schoolies as I'm after some beach parties/meeting new people but not as crazy [or expensive] as the goldcoast. Anyone else planning on going to Lorne or Torquay for schoolies? If not, where else in Voctoria?

    Uai 98+

I'm also stressing. I haven't really cared about scaling untill now because I've only just decided that I definitely want to go to university, and now I'm regretting a few of the subjects I picked. A few are really crappy scaling and I'm worried that even if I get +90 in them [which I do] my...

Aboriginal children in care now exceeds stolen generations

Hahaha! Wtf are you talking about bacteria for? It's incredibly irrelevant. The Aboriginal people survived for 40 000. How can you see that figure and dismiss them as primitive and stupid for not evolving? If you knew anything about the Aboriginal culture, you would know the kind of values...

Fatties have right to extra airline seat

By saying "they probably should get an extra seat" I meant should be GIVEN an extra seat; as in FOR FREE. Jesus sorry for apparently not making it clear enough for you. And there has been much mention of wether it is better for the overweight individual to either a) have one seat and annoy the...

Fatties have right to extra airline seat

Gawd our countries so damn obese! Yeh they probably should get an extra seat, the point of air travel is to accomodate for people in society. A lot of people in soceity are obese! And it barely impacts on other passengers, except that an extra person could be in that seat. That being said, I...

Man ordered to be blinded with acid - sharia does it again

Hmm I wonder what it'll actually achieve? Do you think it will make some think twice before doing something similar? Or will they just be more 'convincing' in making the women not speak out about it? Man this world is screwed up.

Aboriginal children in care now exceeds stolen generations

This thread has gone to shit. RSVPixie: DW about responding, it's almost pointless, they've got their idiotic racist attitudes already and theres little anyone could say to change that. No matter how many good arguments are put forth, their inability to see past their prejudice will mean...

Aboriginal children in care now exceeds stolen generations

No I don't think it would-it's up to both the individuals and communities to keep the culture "alive". But you can live anywhere and keep ones cultural belief active especially if there were like, I dunno, special days to celebrate their indigenous heritage? And I think education on any level is...

Aboriginal children in care now exceeds stolen generations

HAHAHAHA! Thats really funny because I've seen many people say that to others on this thread but this is the first time I've said it to someone else. In fact there are two from the previous page; "Great great great thanks for adding nothing to the thread. " "Thanks for your stunning lack of any...

Aboriginal children in care now exceeds stolen generations

Thanks for your post, it was extremely beneficial for myself and the discussion. My favourite is that first impactful line of "Look at you." Hahaha xD Yes, "their inability to achieve (nothing) in normal society", thanks for forwarding the debate. Good to see people are reading into what I...

Fatties have right to extra airline seat

Well for starters there is a definite difference between prejudice and discrimination. Prejudice involves holding stigma towards a an individual or group, usually for a personal reason, due to shared characeristics or stereotypes. Discrimination also involves treating a group or individual a...
