    Law/ Int Studies @ UNSW

I'm going overseas on the 14th January, so obviously will be absent for offers, enrollment, etc. Can someone please explain what's involved in accepting offers at UNSW and enrolling in subjects? Does it need to be in person, for instance? Also, on the Law/ Int Studies schedule, for the...

Is it worth ordering a mark recheck??

Completely nonsensical comment. Obviously their recognising that getting a higher mark at an under-achieving school deserves credit when considered against those inherently advantaged by a state-ranking cohort.

    UAC Preferences and Offers

Is this situation possible: I preferably want to do law at Sydney, but unfortunately I only earned a 99.00. Obviously my first UAC preference is Combined Law at Syd. Now, I also have a scholarship for UNSW where I can gain guaranteed entry into any degree, so I have law at UNSW as my second...

    Current Atar Calculator Accuracy

I'm having issues with matrix where it seems some of the marks I'm putting in aren't affecting the aggregate and consequently it's way lower than all the other calcs

    Multiple Choice

No ratify is basically rubber stamping it and so your country has officially bound themselves to act in the spirit of the document/ covenant etc.

    Multiple Choice

Yes but "against the conviction" implies where you would appeal THAT conviction to... But again, this question appears a product of dodgy writing, which is kind of ridiculous considering they have the whole bloody year to set the test.

    Multiple Choice

This exactly ^ The question was ridiculously poorly worded. I said the Supreme Court, because it was my understanding one could only appeal to High Court from Supreme Court or Court of Criminal Appeal and from the District Court, I thought you can only appeal to the Supreme Court (but...

    General Thoughts: Legal Studies

Yeah in my opinion it should have been 4 for the Sovereignty Question and 6 for the Charter question. Did anyone else start out crime by saying "To no extent does this statement reflect the criminal justice system..." and go on to talk about how the Courts in exclusion could never achieve...

    Astrophysics - Discuss Questions!

Yeah I realised after I should've done photoelectric/ photographic methods :/ Do you think talking more about the visual techniques could've worked as well, e.g. light meters, obtaining colour index etc. :/

    Astrophysics - Discuss Questions!

Did people talk about spectographs/ light meters etc for the spectroscopy/ photometry question?

    Some of the answers

    No your approach for calculating F = BIlsin(theta) is correct. But 0.2 is the height of the field. The length of the wire in the field is calculated as follows: sin30 = 0.2/length Length = 0.2 /sin30 = 0.4 Therefore: 0.03 = 0.05 x I x 0.04 x 1 I = 1.5A

    Some of the answers

Your Question 8 is wrong. You have to use trig ratios to calculate the length of the wire. So 0.2m is certainly not the length. It's A.

    Section I - Multiple Choice

Wow I actually got 20/20 for M.C. -.- Here's to hoping I didn't screw the rest of the test up.

    Help ! options essays study

You don't have to, but apparently they're more 'impressed' if you do. No way in hell I'm remembering them, too much damned content already.

    Help ! options essays study

Our teacher told us the marking centres are quite harsh on people who aren't up to date with recent advancements, the most significant of which for consumers is ACL through the Competition and Consumer Act. So definitely try to stay away from outdated info in your option essays. They won't...

    Media

When you're discussing non-statutory measures, which could end up taking up quite a substantial part of an essay for some questions, I get a bit uneasy because I have no idea what I can support my argument with when there's not really cases/legislation.

    Human Rights Extended Response

Surely one could assume they won't ask the longer human rights extended question on the contemporary issue EVERY year, so does anyone wanna take a guess as to what's another substantial issue they could ask it about (Maybe development of human rights or documents?). Also if they were to ask...

Not personally but I have friends who have it. It has media articles? Do you by any chance have some for credit?

    Consumers LCMD thread

Any media people have found recently?

    Media

Wow! Any chance you could throw some of those consumer ones our way, I've struggled for them a lot more than family articles.
