Hello, I am an ex-james ruse student who has consistently done well, having come first in the grade in Modern History, Economics and English Advanced, along with top 10 rankings in Extension 1 English and top 15 in Physics. I have been through the rollercoaster that is the HSC and passed without vomiting and i am sure you can do the same too. I have acquired a good deal of experience tutoring, having many one on one students with varied ability and also working at James An, Pre Uni and Smart Coaching colleges. With the recent requests for mathematics tutoring, and my recent experience with a few advanced mathematics students, i am ready to offer tutoring for mathematics. I have plenty of notes and questions for both Mathematics (advanced) and extension 1 mathematics, both of which i did very well in with marks of 94/100 and 48/50 respectively.

Here are my hsc marks:
English (advanced): 95/100 (Paper 1: Imaginative Journeys (Coleridge), Mod A: Ros/guil, Mod B: speeches, Mod c: powerplay-1984)
English extension 1: 47/50 (19th century, individual and society)
Economics: 95/100
Mathematics (advanced): 94/100
Mathematics Extension 1: 48/50
Modern History: 93/100
Physics: 92/100
UAI: 99.40.

I am free to tutor in the school holidays, all the way until you do your HSC. I charge $25/hour for english and economics tutoring and $20/hour for modern history and 2 or 3 unit mathematics tutoring. I will travel if a longer period of tutoring is requested. My tutoring will give you access to a huge variety of notes and tips for exams, along with model answers. Furthermore, i will focus on developing your essay structure and examination question analysis, as this is imperative in both subjects. I will also read your practice essays and give tips and feedback. Specifically, for economics, i will update you on the latest relevant statistics.
If you are interested, please email me at yiwentm@hotmail.com.

Yup, i've had yiwen tutor me in economics and english. He's got an amazing knowledge of up to date economic developments, like the recent inflationary pressures pushing the RBA to undertake contractionary monetary policy. He also helped me to really refine my english essays, got 15/15 for my last journeys essay! :D

Hey engenius. If you want tutoring, i would definitely be available. I would like to tutor around the hornsby area but i am willing to travel, if the teaching time desired is long enough. I would also need to know the type of journey you are doing, along with your texts for modules A, B and C.

Cool, well if you did the coleridge poems as your prescribed text for imaginative journeys, i can help you greatly because i have fantastic and very original related texts which are in a variety of mediums. I will also help you to improve your analysis of the poems as we will study how, for what purpose and the effect of Coleridge's use of iambic rhythm in his poems. Furthermore, the pantheistic beliefs espoused in his poems correspond well with the concept of the imaginative journey as a facilitator of emotional change and newfound physical appreciation because his pantheistic beliefs are indicative of his connection with nature.

For future reference, i did Hamlet and R and G for module A in english, Speeches for module B and Powerplay (1984) for module c. In extension 1 english, i did the individual and the society, 19th century with the texts being Browning's poems, A Doll's house and North and South.

No worries Engenius, this guy will definitely help you do fantastically. The difference between my before and after essays is just hilarious and you don't need to be pedantic (haha, yiwen taught me that big word) to recognise the immense (another word i learnt) difference! :D

um...random question here but........what's the lowest UAI someone has received at James Ruse? i'm just curious :)

i heard that ppl at James Ruse tell each other their UAI's by saying .75 or .xx as in, they assumed that they would have all achieved a 99.xx ; u'd feel pretty bad if you received 99.05 that way
