11 units in HSC (1 Viewer)

I am a concerned parent trying to understand more about the HSC:

If a student sits for 11 units in HSC, how will the 10 best units picked for ATAR in this scenario:

Eng adv, physics, chem, economics, maths 2U, Maths 3U.

If the student did very well in 3U maths which is one unit only, did worst in economics.

If they did good in 3U and worst in economics this would count:

2 English
2 Physics
2 Chemistry
1 Economics
2 Maths 2U
1 Maths 3U

They split each unit into marks out of 50 and count those, something like that.

Pikachu's correct.

Each subject is broken into however many it's worth (i.e. English is broken into 2 Units, Extension 1 Maths is broken into 1 Unit). So basically they take your 10 best units after breaking them up. So they would only take 1 unit of Economics.
