12 or 10 Units? (1 Viewer)

Hi,

As stated by the title, should you do 12 or 10 units? If I do 10 I get the extra study time (and I will use it) which could help my subjects quite a bit (currently I'd get at least an extra 6-8 hours study), OR I could keep the 12 and have a "safety net".

My subjects are:
English Advanced
Physics
Chemistry
Mathematics Extension 2
Economics

I'm currently thinking of dropping Economics as I believe I can perform better in the others, and I enjoy the others more so (this is not saying I dislike economics).

School rank? Teacher quality? Previous cohorts performance in HSC externals (Check out Topscores?) Rankings?

I usually recommend students stick with 12 units, at least for the first term.

English: 11/112
Physics:2/38 (Only just off first)
Chemistry: 2/56 (Would be first if they had counted all the exams (one of the exams was not counted due to circumstances), and only just off first)
Mathematics: 1/50 (Lowest received was 99.2%, rest 100%)
Mathematics Extension 1: 1/21 (First by a fair margin, any mistakes were extremely silly)
Economics: 1/23

I wasn't sure where to go to find students performance in extracurriculars in the site

Keep 12 - Judging by your results and ranks nothing is holding you back and you will be fine with 12

People need backup of some sort just in case they mess up in a subject

Do 10 if you're doing good in all your subjects and/or you're confident in them but if not do 12.

Stick with 12. You can drop any time, but once you're out you're out.
