haha slack.

May I ask, how old are your parents now? I can not possibly imagine suddenly having a little brother/sister around this time last year.
Early 40s...
so its a high risk.
Its going to be so hectic. Its my hsc man...

Early 40's, geez... is it really worth the risk?

I read that you can detect Down Syndrome early, but then there's the whole abortion debate etc.

I am 17 years older than my sister and she was born in November when I just started the HSC. It doesn't affect your studies. At night, I couldn't even hear her cry and my room was pretty close to hers. Also, she generally doesn't cry if my mum is around. I'm also pretty sure your parents would understand if you can't help out with the baby as much due to your HSC commitments.

Yeah there is this invasive test (I forget what it's called) that detects down syndrome and it's like... 99% correct? It's accurate but there are also a lot of risks

My parents don't want to abort. The whole religion thing.

Suppose they find out the kid will have Down Syndrome to 99% certainty.

They know the stress associated with it.

They know the costs associated with it.

They know how much their quality of life will be reduced by it.

And they will still keep it because of 'religion'?

I bet you could take a wild guess but she doesn't treat me like a sister. Plus we never lived together so we have never had anything in common or know much about each other.

Oh we have a relationship, she just treats me more like a mother who has never had anything to do with me than a sister who has had nothing to do with me.

I love her, but she's a bitch. But just always remember that the baby is your sibling not your kid.
