This was only in question 3, but i had no idea how to do it. :(


When the polynomial P(x) is divided by x^2-1 the remainder is 3x -1. What is the remainder when P(x) is divided by (x-1)


(answer = 2)

P(x)=(x2-1)Q(x)+(3x-1) (division transformation)

P(1)=(12-1)Q(1)+(3-1)=2
