Im currently in my first year of three years at uni. Should I bother applying for internships in my first year? specifically looking at investment banking - such as Mergers and acquisitions, sales and trading, private equity, prop trading etc

I also wanna do the internship/s to see what type of IB id like to pursue

You can always try for work experience - just try some cold callings to various businesses and see what happens. If you take the initiative, you might be able to get something.
