Passing Accounting is Amazing, considering one didn't have a clue in the finals :p

But passing with a credit, is just... just COOL

Was very lucky with English, considering the fact that I really screwed up the 40% final exam.

Am hoping this will be enough to get my law transfer

If this person attained a 98.55 year 12 UAI, you reckon she will get into law? I'm pretty damn sure, but she's doesn't think as confident as me..

both those GPA's are 5.875 (mic and ragerunner's friend)
this translates into a rank of 94.00

with RR's friends' UAI being 98.55, this equals a NRSL selection rank of 96.275
(I don't know your UAI, mic)

historically, we know that the NRSL cutoff for Law at UNSW has been around 95.80 (for 2003 entrants anyway), so I'd assume it was similar, or around 96 for 2004.

so therefore, it'd be tight...who knows if the cutoffs for Law will increase more than slightly next month..

(FYI, I applied for Law this year, with a 95.25 UAI and a GPA of 6.0/rank of 96, which gave me a NRSL score of 95.625, so I probably just missed out. I also know another girl at uni who applied for law with a 98 UAI and a 'credit average' and didnt get a transfer)

mic's UAI is also 98.55, heh, giving a NRSL index of 96.275 as well..

My bet is that it will increase.. how much is anyone's guess.

Looks like a lot of people wanting to transfer fall near the NRSL index of 96... coincidence? ;)

hypothesis #1: Generally, in smaller classes, those smart people will tend to get higher marks as compared to being in larger classes.

hypothesis #2: More specifically, in smaller classes consisting of a high proportion of ppl who failed and are repeating, those smart ppl will ace that subject.

hypothesis #3: What about smaller classes consisting of extremely smart and dedicated students? Does that mean they all get good marks and it isnt scaled so that the grades are normally distributed? I'm thinking specifically of myriad of 3rd yr MATH courses, where class sizes range frmo 40ish to 3 or below.
