can any one help me how the hell do you write the pip intro. i've nearly finished my research, ive yet to get books and write surveys. i'm really stuck i do the course by distance education and im struggling. my pip topic is abortion and why people choose to be pro life vs pro choice - what influences that.
simple, write it last. and whatever you write don't expect it to be perfect straight off. that's why they put erasers on the end of pencils!
and btw i am anti-abortion but pro choice. i don't think anybody else should be able to decide wether or not i have a child or what i do to by body. off the topic but i seem to have a slightly different stance than people i've talked to.

I think its a really good idea to actually rite the intro first because it gives you direction.

This is the template our teacher gave us. Hope it helps

1st paragraph
- What is your PIP about and why did you choose the area of enquiry?

2nd paragraph
- What is your central hypothesis? ie what are you setting out to prove via this research?

3th paragraph
- What methodologies have you imployed in this research and why?
- Justify your selection of research tools- what are their advantages and why are they best suited to your research topic?

4th paragraph
- Explain how your PIP investigation will address the cross cultural component.
-Remember to explain how this cross-cultural perspective will allow you, to empathise with the 'other'.
-Also remember to explain how this cross cultural study presents you with a view that is beyond ur normal realm of experience.

5th paragraph
- This is the paragraph that should allow you to round off the introduction.
- It should also explain how this PIP 'journey' will enhance both your investigative skills and your socio-cultural literacy.

wow this thread is amazing/helpful

for my PIP i am doing:

Forensic Science in the Media as a Popular Culture
and possibly a case study on CSI

i will also be adressing how the change in social focus of modern societies from idea focusing on religion and religious proposals to thoes of science and scientific theories, have allowed and accomodated the recent rise of this popular culture.

i may need some participants for a survey in the near future, and i also welcome any comments or additional information!\

good luck to all.

my pip is on the social heirarchy of a high school. It's basically rebels Vs nerds...trying 2 find out y rebels are considered "popular" and nerds considered "unpopular." Also i'm trying 2 find out y teens have made these peer groups and yeah....i dunno what the cross cultural concept is in this and my chapters are all confusing. I pretty much only started doing this pip last week.......

Im doing Society and Culture.. but im currently in yr11. But anyway my teacher wanted us to stay thinking about our PIP for next year and was suggesting topics we could do and helping us.

Anyway I was wondering if doing something on 'housing commissions' would be possible. And what hypothesis could I do?

any topic is awesome so long as u can relate it to the course and MAKE SURE IT'S SOMETHING YOU ARE INTERESTED IN!!! but ur in year 11 so you'll probably change your mind many, many before you start writing or even researching.

My PIP: Paganism is more accepted in todays society than it was in the 1950s.

Pretty obvious, but im gonna look into reasons why its accepted. Havent done anything yet, cos im lazy and hate this subject altogether, even though im getting 80s. Cant wait to finish the HSC, just so i dont have to do society and culture ever again.

My Pip

Im doing 'Are the myths surrounding the only child valid in todays society.'......i'm an only child n became tired of gross generalisations against the 'only children' and decided to take a stand and vindicate myself and other only children by arguing with the founders of modern day psychology - like Alfred Adler to prove my point...i'll probably get in crap for it but oh well...its my pip....my passion so i dont care....

I'm thinking along the lines of "Dear God....Guess Who?" or "Who am I?" for Christianity and Adolescent Id...
